Most brutal body punchers of all time

Underated, one if the nastiest body punchers I personally have seen is Ray Robinson.

he lands with such leverage, timing and accuracy in vulnerable areas. Watching him break Lamottas ribs (I recall he broke his ribs at one point late in the fight ) was pain to watch. The way he times his shots to the pit of the stomach and heart is brutal to watch.

Duran is another who employed a similar strategy. He times the shots so they land with such force and accuracy in vulnerable areas.

this article mentions Lamottas splintering rib cage. I remember Lamotta in an interview mentioned his broken ribs

It may or may not be true, Lamotta never mentioned it in his autobiography, nor was it mentioned in The Way It Was TV program.
Nor did either of the A P reports mention it.

Too many for a list. Robinson's body punching is indeed not talked about much. Not only well aimed but Ray puts everything into them a la Hearns. Is there confirmation here that Ray KOd opponents to the body with either hand some place in his career?

JCC is usually the name that is brought up as being one if thr best at going to the body. Dont know if that means he was the most brutal, or just his favorite form of attack.

Khaosai Galaxy was definitely a brutal body puncher, as his height and build would indicate.

Both Golovkin and Canelo, of more recent fighters, were deadly to the body.

JCC was brutal to the body, also one of the best at doubling and tripling up hooks. Can't remember if he did that to the body though.

When he wanted to be Tommy was a truly brutal body puncher.

Shuler faced the best Middle version of Hearns and I remember before Barkley caught lightening in a bottle I thought Tommy would break his entire ribcage to bits!

Floyd Patterson taking out Charely "Devil" Green with a vicious body shot. MSG September 1970

Tony Zale was known for working the body, at least Graziano's body anyway.

Zale scored a solar plexus KO in fight 1 and set up the KO in fight 3 with a perfect right hand to the body.
