we're not talking about you and a friend arguing and deciding to go one on one.

we're talking about a guy on the street beating the crap out of you.

you pretty sure he'll stop in time before you die or get seriously hurt? what if he doesn't?

if you instigated the fight then fight back, if you did nothing and are getting savagely beaten then sure.

now imagine 100% of them ending in a shooting. it just doesn't make sense

it's different if someone knocked you down and stomps and kicks your head while you're down, but as far as a simple scrap I don't see a gun being necessary at all.

Self defence is basically the same anywhere you live. You can do whatever you feel necessary if you are in immediate danger but as soon as you are no longer in danger (like if they hit the floor) you can't jump on them and attack them because you then become the aggressor.

Even if Zimmerman attacked first when he hit the floor and Trayvon jumped on him. Trayvon becomes the aggressor and Zimmerman can do whatever he feels neccessary to stop the assault.

i've never been in a fight where it's boxing.

when i've been down , they always got on top.

when i got them down , they always got stomped.

I guess he's into head stomping or w/e, not my thing but some people are more violent than others.
