Saw a video of jones looking very overweight, fully on belly and ti-ts. No wonder the date is so far off.

I am not an MMA fan at all. But if Jones fights Pereira, I will order that and watch because that will be a sick battle.

Jon Jones is the MMA GOAT. Jones beats Pereira.

Tbh it'd probably just be Jones taking him down and stopping him very quickly like he did with Gane. Poatan is an awesome striker, very entertaining and is pretty much carrying the UFC right now, but hes been fast tracked in weak divisions and hasnt fought a genuine well rounded elite guy or a really good grappler yet.

The fight to make for Jones is Aspinall, but he clearly doesnt want it as its too dangerous.

Wow you talked my chubby down. lol.

I was intrigued by Pereira. I didn’t know he was feasting on weak comp.

Nah he is must see. Hes fighting regularly, hes taking on all comers, and hes a very entertaining destructive fighter who is right up there as one of the most dangerous pure strikers and biggest p4p hitters in the sports history. Keep in mind before he even came to MMA he had already solidified himself as maybe the best kickboxer ever at his weight too, so hes special for sure. But it is what it is, 205 and 185 are not strong divisions these days and they're very striker heavy which obviously suits him. The biggest remaining test for him at 205 right now is Ankalaev, but considering that guy is talking about "I dont need to take him down to win" he will probably get himself KTFO like everyone else has so far. If Pereira actually went up to HW and took on Jones or Aspinall he'd get tooled imho. Him vs Gane would be very interesting stylistically though, I think Gane is maybe a bit too big and athletic and elusive and would outstrike him.

Btw, Artem Vakhitov, an elite kickboxer who had two close fights with Pereira in Glory (they're 1-1 techically but imo Vakhitovs win was a robbery) is going to be on the next series of Dana Whites Contender Series. So potentially hes gonna chase Pereira into the UFC like how Pereira went after Adesanya.

Weak comp? No way man. Pereira has beaten some top fighters and he was fast tracked to a title shot because of his wins over Adesanya in kickboxing.

Jones is just a bad style match up for Pereira. People only remember Adesanya getting brutally stopped by Pereira in their first match in the UFC, but people forget that Adesanya controlled Pereira on the ground fairly easily in the middle rounds and Adesanya is as pure of a striker as you can get for a top fighter. Jones on the other hand is an elite wrestler and I doubt he'd be crazy enough to stand with Pereira for too long.

If Jones aged and lost a step in the last few years, then Pereira can KO him. But if age and injuries hasn't affected Jones much, then he likely wins by submission or decision.

Weak comp is a harsh way of putting it. Obviously Izzy is an ATG and Jiri is very good too BUT both of those guys are heavily geared towards striking. If you go back 10 years or so LHW had Jones, DC, Rumble (RIP), Gus, Bader, Glover, Phil Davis and all of them were more less in their primes. I'm not sure anyone todays wins more than 3 of those fights, and thats being optimistic imho. I mean the best wrestler Poatan has faced so far is probably a 40 year old Jan, who was a journeyman in that era when he was in his prime.
