If you go back 10 years or so LHW had Jones, DC, Rumble (RIP), Gus, Bader, Glover, Phil Davis and all of them were more less in their primes. I'm not sure anyone todays wins more than 3 of those fights, and thats being optimistic imho. I mean the best wrestler Poatan has faced so far is probably a 40 year old Jan, who was a journeyman in that era when he was in his prime.
Yeah, I mean besides Jan being a former champ in this era, Glover also ended up winning the title just a few years ago even though he was never able to work his way back to a title shot until 7 years later. 205 is definitely in a weaker era and Jones left a big hole in the division when he moved up and someone like Anthony Smith would have never been close to a title shot 10-15 years ago.

Pereira is doing the what he can and he's beaten the best guys available, but he does have a major weakness that's already been somewhat exposed. To his credit he's still relatively inexperienced in MMA and he's been wrecking almost everyone in his path.

I'd say the light heavyweight GOAT, but not overall. He's no Anderson or Fedor. Isn't Jones still starting out at heavyweight?

Tbh his level of competition was stronger than either and he was equally or more dominant against them. Its just that he is an unlikeable prick and never had their "aura" because he wasnt flashy Matrix guy like Anderson or unstoppable ice cold quiet Russian terminator like Fedor. He was just an arrogant sociopath who had most of the physical advantages over his opponents and picked them apart in very workmanlike fashion.

Okay, but I never saw him fight anyone as good as Hendo.

Yeah, he was pretty good. I would say it's close either way and prime for prime, both guys are very skilled. And they've both tested positive for PEDs, so they've even there as well lol.
