How Has Hollywood Been So Incapable Of Capturing the Essence of Terminator 1 & 2?

These movies are absolute classics, way ahead of their time. Everything from the storyline, to the music, and the imagination was so iconic.

Ever since Terminator 2, Hollywood has released a bunch of Terminator movies, weather its T3 or that pure trash that was Genysis, none of them, event he latest movie Dark Fate felt like it had a spark of originality. The terminators became extremely over powered to the point of being god like, which made it very difficult to believe that the original T800 model stood any chance against them.

I just wish that Hollywood did a Terminator movie in the essence of the first two, in other words a stronger concentration on the plot and storyline, and stayed away from the super crazy god like terminators. Keep it simple, the original T800 was already a stretch of the imagination, no need to go full ******.

Also stop bringing back Arnold! I know he is the face of Terminator and as iconic as that may be, he is now a relic of the past. Talk about beating a dead horse, let him sail away into the sunset and revamp the series with fresh faces, with concentration on the plot over the Boom! Kaboom! Whoosh! Thanos like Terminators.

There's a clear answer to this: James Cameron.

To answer your question, Hollywood is full of ******s who think that the first two movies were simple minded storyless action flicks, so that's what they're making.

i am going to venture a guess. keep in mind.. guys call me crazy..

ok.. i think the reason terminator 1 and 2 were so dope was they relied less on special effects, and more on the story and character development..

some guys.. like JJ abrams.. throw so many special effects that i get dizzy watching... my wife says she can't tell what is happening until we re watch.. in slow motion, reading japanese subtitles, and even they, the people that subtitle high action films can't find the words or expressions to explain to the audience what we are seeing..

i got buddies .. older guys like me.. who like young wimmin and they try to stay current, dressing like young guys, but my homies are 55 going on 22... pathetic.. anyway.. i guess, i can't keep up with the action or who or what I just saw..

getting old sucks.. do not get old..

where is my bro, Siablo??? I miss him..

Some franchises don’t age or serialize well, they also changed the storyline far into the series in a manner that makes no sense at all.
