the primary function of punishment in the sociological perspective is to control the remainder of the population.

why do we punish a murderer?
keeping everybody else from murdering is the primary function, and the function of greatest value to society.

the death penalty would discourage anything.

The death penalty has not proven over history to deter crime in the least, we still have murderers and ******ers to this day probably always will though I do favor the punishment on the sole basis that law abiding citizens should not have to pay for this type of trash to be housed and fed.

Lots of problems with the justice system, I would rather anyone with any kind of a drug conviction as long as a violent crime was not related to it released, waste of my tax dollars and waste of police time.

There are different types of murderers and sometimes you can relate to the motivation like someone who takes things into their own hands when they have been seriously ripped off or found out someone close has been screwing their wife. But child ******ation is ***ually driven and unless you are a pervert you can't relate to or attempt to justify that kind of behaviour. So a child ******er is far worse IMO.

Even if I had a child I'd never state that it being ******ed or ****d (there's a clear difference between those two acts) was on par with someone being murdered.
