why do we punish a murderer?

most murders are committed by people who know their victims, doe. random killings are rare relative to those with a motive outside of simply feeling gratified. i didn't read the TS post, to tell the truth, so i can't say if he made this stipulation about the population of murderers we're comparing to child ******ers.

to address the thread title:
both are disgusting acts that should mandate at least several decades behind bars. a child's life is obviously compromised when he / she is ****d, but the victim lives. it's obviously a more serious offense to kill somebody.

Well, the murderers were likely ******ed at a young age, so the child ******er caused it. Therefore the ******er is worse.
