It’s not particularly surprising. The spike protein has too many mutations for the vaccine to able to prevent infection to the same degree as the original strain.

Luckily even two doses significantly reduce mortality.

Ok someone want to tell me how Isreal is seeing antibody rates up to 800 and people are still getting covid but some how it reduces symptoms? Yeah not buying any of this chit. If someone with antibodies so high can't prevent spread how in the hell is it even working to reduce anything?

The immune system is rather too complicated for a simpleton like Man Round.

Have you done any reading on how it works?

So complicated that I said this chit didn't work long ago and was completely wrong.
Tell us more, then tell us how previous infection doesn't help if you get omicron.

Or just STFU because you've been wrong this whole time.

yeah its really amazing, works wonders. keep it going with vitamins, exercise etc and it will handle these bugs naturally, without being reinforced by artificial crap.

Judging by your posts he seem to be unaware of the differences between the innate and the responsive sub-groups of our immune systems.

              Tell me what you know?

Like I said, you've been wrong this whole time. So *** off. The debate is OVER.

Difference between antibodies which are more specific and target or inhibit the invading microbes (viruses or bacteria) and T-cells which attack the infected cells after they been infected. One is more preventative the other is more reactive and much longer term. Wrote a good long post about the difference between antibodies and T-cell response a day or two ago. Beginning to think dudes don't want to learn about this stuff. Anyway I'll just do block quote save some time rather than waste another essay on ya..

The vaccine developed by BioNTech and Pfizer, like most other vaccines, offers two distinct layers of protection against the virus.

The first comprises antibodies, which may help prevent people from becoming infected in the first place by preventing viruses from colonizing healthy cells in the body.

Antibodies, however, start to wane around five months after the second dose of vaccination, according to some studies. Due to the high number of mutations, Omicron is likely to be better at circumventing the antibodies generated after contact with the vaccine than Delta, Dr. Sahin said.

This characteristic of Omicron may explain why preliminary tests suggest that from Inc. isn’t as effective against Omicron as against older variants, the company said Tuesday. Outside scientists said another antibody drug ****tail from also appeared to lose effectiveness.

Vaccines also provide a second layer of protection: Immune agents called T-cells, some of which mobilize to destroy infected cells after an infection has occurred.

“Our belief [that the vaccines work against Omicron] is rooted in science: If a virus achieves immune escape, it achieves it against antibodies, but there is the second level of immune response that protects from severe disease—the T-cells,” he said.

“Even as an escape variant, the virus will hardly be able to completely evade the T-cells.”

That means that, even if the vaccines are shown to be less effective at neutralizing the Omicron variant, they could still offer good protection against severe disease and death, Dr. Sahin said, stressing that it would take time for patient data to confirm this.

In general T-cells are both far longer lasting and broader spectrum (hell I think even T-cells produced by response to common cold have been shown to offer some protection vs COVID) : though it'l be likely reduced by greater genetic divergence.

Nice article here on the difference between antibodies and t-cells and their different functions or I can link you a video if you rather?

Yeah but those that had previous infection are SOL right? Lol. T and B cells will do the same for those that had delta or alpha.

Either way, you can stick your vaccines up your arse! I can't wait for the Pfizer pages to be released here soon. All the side effects from this BS will surface also. Not to mention the mental health issues all this caused with kids being out of school and people losing jobs over a BS mandate. Yeah the WH needs a wall and bigger fence people about to be pissed!

To top it off China is asking the fed not to raise rates or it will cause a global economic collapse. It's all coming to a head. Everyone was warned but no one wants to face reality. 100.00 a barrel oil. Two rate increases. Inflation. Possible war. Major supply issues on top of China now closing posts will make supply issues worse.
Will be buying a couple rentals.
