rap is good when it means something and 99% of the time it’s just bravado ****e
    1. Rap seldom samples pop music???? They moreso sample old RNB music or older rap songs

    2. You exaggerating, 99%. Gtfoh..... Most new rappers don't even act hard nomore.... There is an entire subgenre called backpack rap. Conscious rap.guys who mainly rap about smoking weed. but 99% doe

    3. Ain't nobody flexing with no damn 22.... You sound like your 60 years old. Comment on shyt you know about. "Convince how hard they are". Times have changed, these new rappers are forced to keep it real, which is the actual problem with the music now... You have criminals rapping instead of musicans rapping about crime that killed the quality of half the music

Rock wasn't stolen from blacks. Unless you think blacks learned how to play guitar, piano, saxophones in Africa. For all the talk of white artists stealing black music, there's little to no mention of blacks stealing music from other blacks, and from whites too. The entire industry is shady.

rap is negative , bleak and without soul.......anybody can talk during a song it’s called talking and not singing.
Rap has accounted for more murders than any other genre combined.......either by direct action or indirect and that tells you exactly what you need to know about rap music.
yes there are talented and socially aware rappers but they are few and far between.

See you brought up some facts but wrapped them up with more exaggerated bs from your own personal feelings.

Rap is bleak and without soul???? Why make a general statement like that? Ever heard of 2pac, Beanie Sigel, Scarface, Freddie Gibbs,Style P just a short list of guys who made hella soul music.

Anybody can talk on a song? Another general ****** statement....Y'all call what Eminem does talking on a beat? Nas? Jadakiss? All the thousands of guys from the battle rap scene.

Quit saying rap ... And be specific...."Mainstream rap" that would fix your entire argument and I would be more inclined to agree with your sentiment.

Then you bring up those rappers who died, when two of them were known killers and the other
died from leaking his location and getting robbed by criminals which has nothing to do with rap.

Say it with me slow ..."MAINSTREAM HIP HOP"

The ‘talking’ isn’t the hard bit. Anyone can talk.

Anyone can sing to a certain extent too.

I would argue most rock and roll singers can’t sing particularly well. They may have an okay timbre but in terms of holding notes and singing in tune, vocal range etc there often isn’t a huge amount of ‘talent’ there.

The talent in talking over a beat is:

                  A. Lyrics. Being able to write good/clever lyrics.
                  B. Flow. Being able to write good lyrics that fit to the beat. All about those syllables!
                  C. Without A and B you don’t have talent.

Talking allows more for more information.

                  Generally.

Bob Dylan spoke over one of my favourite tracks ‘it’s alright ma’.

                  Sooooooo good!!

I used to listen to, and like, a lot of his songs. He was talented.

But I look at him totally differently now. Can't hear that music without thinking what a piece of sh/t he is.

He was ******ed when young too which can create a vicious cycle and I feel bad for him in that sense. But ultimately you are responsible for what you do to others.
