thanks, yeah, 88 landed by Wlad to 30 by TOS. What were we thinking, TOS was dominating like he said. he deserves a rematchafter seeing that, i cant believe this man had the nerve to say that. Ok he knocked Wlad down, but did anyone see his eyes roll in the back of his head that same round when Wlad landed a normal right cross. TOS can eat my Sh**.

Originally posted by NeuraxisJefferson lost to Maskaev not Sullivan. I was merely pointing out that Wlad got caught with a great punch and he didn't panick. Schulz losing close controversial fights to great fighters obviously doesn't make him a never was like you claimed. Mesi might be overrated, but what does that make Toney? Mesi was able to easily outbox Jirov until he ran out of gas, which was something James the second coming Toney could not do. So let me get this straight you would favor Byrd and Ruiz over a prime Mercer, Botha, Schulz, and Barrett? I guess they are all debateable except a prime Mercer would destroy them both.
Mesi was Jirov's first fight at heavyweight and came in at 212; Vassiliy weighed in at 188 against Toney. He is a natural cruiserweight and was a much more effective fighter at that division. Still, Toney was able to close the show, unlike Mesi. Even at heavyweight, i'd take Toney anyday over Mesi.
Yes, i would take Byrd and Ruiz over any of Wlad's opponents prior to McCline. And why throw in a prime Mercer? The version Wlad beat was a shell of himself and was clearly past his best. Though Wlad completely dominated Mercer, Ray was still able to bust up his face. Had Wlad beaten a prime Mercer, we wouldn't be having this discussion. I wouldn't question him, but he didn't beat prime a Mercer.
Let me just say once again, i think Wlad is a fine fighter, with exceptional tools and physical attributes (though some flaws as well). I simply didn't think he earned the label as "unbeatable" or "the next great heavyweight champion". His record didn't deserves such lofty praise.

I know why people bash Vladimir and Vitaliy. I will tell you why.
I have noticed that the people who bash Vladimir and Vitali are either Roy Jones fans, Lennox Lewis fans, Mike Tyson fans, or James Toney fans. These are the only fans who bash Wladimir and Vitali. Look closely at those fans. What has happened to their fighters recently? Think very carefully what has happened to their fighters. Now you know the answer why they bash Wladimir and Vitali.
Nautilus, I couldn't help it. I had to post on your topic.

And on another note its ok for Toney fans to rant and rave about how Toney was able to beat Holyfield after having lost the beginning rounds, but its not ok for Wlad fans to rant and rave about how Wlad completely dominated Mercer from start to finish.
