Wlad won a disputed decision vs. a guy in Williamson who not only has no chin (ask Willie Champman and Joe Mesi, a pair of club level heavyweights) but has no skill. Sloppy jab, really bad technique and about half the size of Wlad. The fact that fight is even competitive is a disgrace considering Wlad was "the next champ."

I can only assume you did not see the fight. If you did you shut the f&ck up about Wlad.

Wlad was the heir apparent to topple Lewis (like Grant), Wlad turned out to have no chin (like Grant), he's a big phsyically impressive fighter (like Grant), he has a good punch (like Grant) but has no confidence (like Grant) and should be mowing down a guy with the size and skill of Williamson. Actually, Grant got off the canvas and came back to stop Golota. He's shown more heart than Wlad. So I guess you're right. Bad comparison. Wlad hasn't even made it far enough to earn a shot at the title like Grant!

    You're an apologist.

I bet you bought the explanation that Wlad lost to Brewster (yet another garbage heavyweight) because of the "vaseline" theory. The only place there's vaseline is between your buttcheeks from taking it so hard from your hero.

I think some people simply mistake valid criticism for hating.

When everyone was annointing Wlad as the heir apparent to the heavyweight thrown, i think it was a bit premature. Yes, he looked awesome in every way and destroyed everyone in his path, but, aside from Byrd whom he outweighed by 20+ pounds, he didn't beat one viable opponent until he beat McCline.

Now, its seems like everytime he is pressured, he folds. To me, he hasn't proved enough.

Vitali is a different story. He has heart, a solid chin, and doesn't back down. However, he is very unpolished and often sloppy in the ring. Still, he overcomes this lack of technique with sheer determination. I'm not sure how far that alone will take him. Possibly to the title considering how horrid the division is right now, but he wouldn't have survived in the tougher eras.

I like Wlad, but i gotta agree with most of what your saying. Wlad does have skills, until the corrie sanders fight, i loved to watch him fight. However, since then, he has not performed at the level he should/could. I dont think the decision for the williamson fight should be very disputed though. anyone have the punch stats?

So what are Barrett, Mercer, Botha, Schulz, and Jefferson? Apparently you missed TOS pressure him in the 4th after the KD and Wlad coming back to win the round on each of the 3 judges scorecards.

Besides the KD how was the fight competative? Wlad didn't look very good, but the fight was anything but competitive. I can only assume that you didn't see the fight.

As for Grant and Wlad. I guessed you missed McCline KD Grant and basically finish him with the first punch of the fight. Keep digging yourself a deeper hole. Let's see how deep you can make it.

To be honest, they were has-beens and never-weres. Do you seriously consider those fighters title contenders? Sure, they were somewhat of nice stepping blocks, but not viable opponents that could've tested him.

As for Klitchko-Williamson, i didn't see the fight so i can't comment on it. But from what i've heard, he didn't look too impressive.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to hate on Wlad. All i'm saying is that he didn't prove enough to be labeled the next great, unbeatable champion, no matter how hard the HBO crew pushed that idea. He still has the tools, but it takes a lot more than physical talent to become a champ.
