Despite his age, though, Davis is a boxing vet, who is more at the end of his career than beginning. He needs to clean out the 135 division ASAP. Time is now.
I see a young, fierce lion who's being held back by Floyd, so he wouldn't supersede him. I don't have a single doubt that Davis can beat all the lightweights, including Loma, some quick and easy. I don't even count Commey, Crolla, or Campbell, or anyone that caliber. Commey wouldn't last more than 3 rounds with Davis.
I think Floyd is a mad, egomaniac narcissist, who gives zero shit about his best boxer/fighter. It's all about Floyd. Fuck off, Floyd.

how many guys in the sport can tick off even one of those boxes at 24?
what were bud and spence doing at 24? were they making davis money? were they selling out? were they headlining showtime and hbo cards? loma was still fighting kids in headgear.....
stop hating on the guy...hes ahead in the business aspect of the game...ahead of alot of guys....but i get it...business doesnt matter if its a black guy or guy you dont like or a guy with the pbc
but if golovkin is ducking ward to wait another year and half to fight canelo "cause duh its smart business" its ok.....some of you are so deluded and twisted with hate its sickening......
hes 24 and has a ton of time to build a real resume....yall celebrated a guy that took his first meaningful fight at age 34 lol

That being said the kid does look like a fat lesbian doe,& he is too old to be ducking one way or the other, but I do agree completely that fans of those 2 should keep their traps shut

I have a feeling that if he faced Loma he may get the Russell Walters or Rigo treatment...just hard to say until they face off...and by that I mean I need to see them side by side to see size wise how they stack up...I think Loma would use his experience still to beat Tank if they are roughly the same size, and in beating him he may dismantle him mentally which could derail Tank's career.
Tank could be ready for Loma as you feel he is though...if he has any type of size edge on Loma, Loma has looked pedestrian imo against similar skill guys to Tank, so maybe Tank can pull it off...maybe he can hang with Loma anyway even if they are the same size.
I think Floyd is just trying to protect his investment with Tank though and knows that right now Loma is a very risky fight for him...I think Tank at 24 has a few impressive wins already though so yeah I like him...I will be honest though I don't really follow the little guys much so idk how good some of those KO wins are.
But I do follow expectations going into fights, and Tank seems to exceed expectations every time out...and then some people call Pedraza and Cueller etc bums or complete bums and that isn't the case from what I can tell.

If you like his boxing, that's all that should matter. If not, don't watch him. Backhanded compliments aren't ever cool.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 09-26-2019, 10:24 PM.

I don't follow the little guys too much, but imo it is obvious that Tank is a victim of combining those two things...I really like him as a fighter, but because he is still fairly young, he is still being managed pretty carefully, I think most people, fan or foe, would agree with that.
Anyone reasonable would list Tank as a top fighter at whatever division he is in...no one was listing Spence TC or GGG as a top fighter when they were 24...they were still building their resumes up and trying to make a name for themselves...Tank has been pro for 6 years, and has been getting some buzz for a couple years now...which is about the same amount of time GGG TC and Spence were all pro before they started getting buzz...Spence about 3 years in...GGG about 5...TC about 4.
The main difference imo for Tank with respect to those 3 guys, is that those 3 guys were all the 'boogeyman' once they started to get some buzz...they were the guy in and around their division that no one else really wanted to face...unfortunately for Tank, Loma is that guy around his division...and from a neutral outside perspective it looks like he is being carefully managed to avoid the Loma fight, and possibly other tough fights.
Again..for Tank...you can't beat your chest and say you're the best, if you also are being carefully managed....people will see that and kill you for it.
I would also add that GGG had a lot of significant fights going in before 34...until after the fight where he dominated them and KOed them...then they become bums....Lemieux Murray Geale...hell even Macklin Stevens Proksa and Ouma were 'tests' for him going in...I remember the sentiments of fans going into those fights...the betting lines may have been wide, but a lot of people have been expecting GGG to take a loss or get 'exposed' for a long long time and for a lot of fights...and truth be told I have not really ever seen it happen.

Is it really fair to compare the pro ring record of a great fighter like Tank at age 24 when he turned pro at age 19 to the pro ring record of great fighters like GGG and Loma who did not turn pro until their mid or late 20s? Hell they were not even pro boxers at age 24 so how can they match Tank's pro record at age 24? Tank had a hell of a head start.
