The beauty of being your own man
DAZN needed to make a splash, so they showed Canelo the money (for his US TV rights, and the rights to the other 7 countries that DAZN is available in, with Canelo keeping Mexico to himself).
In a similar way to the Floyd-Showtime/CBS deal, DAZN doesn't have to stand Canelo fighting an out-and-out bum, but it's clear as day that they aren't calling the fights to Canelo.
With Andrade, Kovalev, Callum Smith, Munguia (Mexican vs Mexican on Mexican Independence Day weekend), Jermall Charlo, and Golovkin all as viable fight options to him, to name the obvious ones, pressing Canelo isn't going to amount to much (and it's not like folks won't tune in without Golovkin either).

while I do not believe this article is disingenuous in any way..... I do not believe there is much truth in it
the one fact we do know.....
nothing in Canelo's contract binds him to a trilogy fight with Golovkin
//krikya360.com/canelo-n...rilogy--138326
that means..... that neither Skipper, nor anyone else not-named Canelo..... has the final say on his opponent selection
there will be no stand-off with DAZN
the very worst possible scenario for DAZN..... is that they will have to approve a good/very good, opponent for Canelo..... who is not-named Golovkin
then DAZN will have to approve Golovkin's next opponent
which will be hilariousLast edited by aboutfkntime; 07-06-2019, 02:26 AM.

this is the funny part to me.....
everybody is freaking out over who will be Canelo's next opponent
so long as it aint Munguia..... I don't really care
because ALL of the other options mentioned so far are very good
what intrigues me far more is.....
FACT: Canelo will NOT be fighting Golovkin next..... so, who will Golovkin select?
that is FAR most interesting to me LMAO

If DAZN wants to make Alvarez/Golovkin III, then Alvarez/Golvkin III it will be. John Skipper DAZN's chairman holds all the cards. After all, it's DAZN's money Canelo is spending. DAZN is Ginger's boss and employer and he better not forget it.
Just like HBO; DAZN are matchmakers as well. They paid Canelo that inflated amount of money in order for him to fight the fights that they want to see and it just so happens that Gennady Golovkin is one of those fights they would like to see.
Canelo has to remember that he is no longer his own boss anymore. DAZN literally owns his ass.

So all these article is doing is just speculating. Canelo is in control of his career and to be honest am sure he would fight GGG again once GGG realise that things aren’t going to go his away at the negotiating table.
Canelo is the younger boxer, he has time to waste if GGG wants to play the “Demand” game.

1) GGG wins... Then what next?... GGG-Canelo 4, 5 etc?...
2) Canelo wins... Then he only has Andrade at 160... And then who? (because Jermall got his belt in order to stay where he is now)...

I do !!
FACT: Canelo said this..... "There is no clause in my contract that forces me to fight against Golovkin"
FACT: Canelo signed his contract with DAZN before Golovkin did..... nobody knew Golovkin would sign with DAZN at that point
it is clearly obvious that Canelo selects his opponents
I am also 100% positive that Golovkin has the final say on his opponent selection..... no fighter would ever be ****** enough to sign away that right
I am almost 100% positive that unless Golovkin wins a title NEXT (Andrade or Charlo)..... then Canelo will never fight him again
you do not need to read between the lines..... that is what Canelo said
if a trilogy fight never happens..... it is 100% Golovkin's fault
he knew what he had to do
