Wrong AGAIN. When Toney was in negotiations to fight Vitali (before Vitali turned towards Maskaev) the WBC announced any fight Vitali took away from Rahman would NOT be for the title.

Toney's one of the most marketable name in the Heavyweight division. He has a core following in the sport because of his Hall of Fame status.

He's head and shoulders a bigger draw than Brock, who was the other name mentioned by Wlad.

Toney is a solid draw, Bozo is correct about that. Toney has been around forever, has been in some big fights, is from a historical boxing city, and talks some good smack. He also has an excellent promoter.

But he fails to see that Toney doesn't make Wlad significantly more money than anyone else at the moment. If Wlad was after money, he'd have another event in Germany with a nobody and wait on Sultan for a mega-fight defense over there. It's not MONEY. It's unifying. He's not Tarver. He's a student of the game and a lifelong sportsman who has a dream of being the HW champion of the world. Unifying the titles will give him that claim. And once he is unified champion, then King will probably have to unify his titles and arrange a unidisputed match. Wlad and Manny have said over and over that it's unification they are after. Money is secondary.

The first step on that road is Toney, because of the gift draw he got and the WBC's asinine ruling that he gets the next shot at Rahman/Maskaev after that pathetic performance. If not for that ruling, Wlad and Manny wouldn't even be mentioning Toney's name. That's the fact that Bozo is missing.

They are with King, who will not let them fight Wlad without future options. You know this as well as I do. King's title are a dead issue because you have to sign your life to him in order to get a crack at them. Wlad would destroy either one of them.

I do believe that if Wlad is successful in unifying that it will force King to unify his and make a unification fight with no strings, but until then he will keep lurking and waiting for a chance to scoop up another title. Byrd and Rahman's defections were a huge blow to King's plans. And the mere fact that they ran as fast as they could away from King should explain to you why Wlad is not looking at Valuev or Lyakhovich.
