I like his stoics mind set and confidence. If this guy does manage to do the unthinkable and beat Moneymay. This could be the biggest upset in decades.I think MoneyMay would embarrass him and his corner throwing the towel. I could be wrong.

Bounce in and out at a fast tempo you say, it seems so simple now I've heard it. I wonder why none of the hof trainers past or present ever thought of this and it's taken a twenty something mma fighter with a record of 0-0-0 to revolutionise the sport.

what do you expect him to say? at least now he'll keep a big amout of cash even tho most of it is gonna go to his handler/pimp dana white, don't be silly and believe this guy has a chance..everyone who fought floyd had confidence we all know how it ended.

This isn't a baseball player taking on Justin Speith in match play golf based off the fact he can swing a club, the similarities and skills needed in stand-up MMA and boxing are much, much more closely aligned. People are also talking like McGregor is going to go in there and become some super-orthodox upright boxer trying to outscore Mayweather jab for jab. I think this is going to be unlike anything we have seen in every way, and McGregor is crazy and confident enough to actually come at this in a completely unorthodox but effective manner. I'm a huge fan of Mayweather's ability and think he is a genius, but I also look at how Maidana, DLH and Cotto approached him and see ways McGregor could at the very least make it interesting and find ways to land. McGregor also has a 5cm reach advantage - FYI, Cotto has a 13cm disadvantage, Maidana an 8cm disadvantage and DLH only a 2cm advantage. McGregor is also a southpaw, Judah gave Mayweather all sorts of problems early on and has the same reach as him.

I'm not saying McGregor will win, but I do think he has more than enough to make it interesting for 4-5 rounds and find people's reaction to this fight ignorant and misinformed.
I think Conor will make it interesting for 2 rounds, if he can't land the big shot then it's all down hill for him.

When he described boxing as a half sport or even a quarter sport/fight compared to mma like it was an advantage he's very much mistaken.
This springing in and out thing might work in UFC when the other fighter is trying to watch for multiple forms of offense like rushing against the cage, kicks, knees, elbows, takedowns etc
A boxer is entirely focused on one type and I think when Conor's shoulders inevitably dip a little before springing in it will be for more telegraphed than in UFC, especially to a defensive wizard like floyd who has a perfect understanding of distance and should be able to avoid any damage with a relative economy of movement and counter at will.
He's going to gas faster than I thought.

Time seems excruciatingly slow when you want your fighter to just survive the distance, doesn't matter if he wins or not.
Seems fast when you want someone to get beat up, but doesn't seem to be happening. 12 rounds will feel like 3 rounds or something.
12 rounds like 3 rounds? Have you ever boxed? Conor is going to blow his load in 3 to 4 rounds.

It sounds like Conor has never seen Pacquiao fight. He used the spring in/out as effectively as anyone else.

TBH if this approached worked, I'd expect it to have worked against Paulie.

If it's something Conor's used in MMA, it shouldn't come as any surprise. If it's brand new, it's risky tactics.

Either way, doing crazy **** like this will fatigue him no end. I also think the ref will prevent him roughing Mayweather up too much, so all it means is farther for his punches to travel and more time for Floyd to counter him.

If Floyd can defend against punches in the pocket, then he can defend outside the pocket.
