Anthony Joshua fought Jason Gavern in his 11th pro fight.

Deontay Wilder fought Jason Gavern in his 32nd pro fight.

This timing excuse is bollocks. By the time he steps in the irng, he would have been away from it for 7 months. Between the end of the Povetkin shamble and the picking of Washington (aftert hat other bum) there was a span of two months if not more.

You call him the most legit champ in all of boxing. He hasn't defended against any of the few legit HWs. Perhaps you are having trouble with reading comprehension. In multiple threads, for consecutive days, I have been defending Wilder's resume and offering in depth analysis. So no, I am not avoiding anything.

AJ has not faced better competition than Wilder. The facts do not support your premise. Wilder has, by far, the better wins.

If AJ beats Klitschko, obviously that changes.

Guys move at different rates, Wilder coming out of the Oylmpics was extremely raw, he really wasn't even a pro prospect until his 20th or so fight. Joshua is more polished coming in, that is all that says.

To me they fought Gavern at the exact same time Joshua in his 11th fight was a pro prospect in his 11th fight, Wilder had 20 apprentice ship fights honing his skills in the gym, then got moves to prospect status fighting Gavern in his 12th fight of that phase.

Women's tennis often has higher ratings than men's tennis. That doesn't change the fact that the best players are on the men's tour.

Win or lose for AJ has Wilder faced anyone remotely close to the level of Vlad? His biggest win was the only guy that took him the distance. Stiverne was TBRB #3 in the world when Wilder completely dominated him. AJ hasn't faced anybody close to that. A win over Klitschko would be considered more impressive and I have no problem with that, although Klitschko looked terrible in his last fight and has had such a long lay off that he's currently unranked.

AJ has not defended against a top contender either. AJ and Wilder have defended against a similar level of opposition. Guys ranked in their orgs that are available. But nobody is bashing AJ. Because he's scheduled to face Klitschko.

What happens if Klitschko fails a doping test though and the fight is canceled? Does that mean everybody will bash AJ? No. But they bash Wilder because he's with Haymon.
