It was an article on this very website, on Apr 24, 2016, which reads:
"WBA: If No Golovkin-Canelo, We Will Order GGG-Danny Jacobs"

      ... and also:

      WTF, lad???

WBA Mendoza made this announcement above on Apr 24, 2016. Canelo fought on May 7, then he vacated no later than May 18 and his WBC mandatory GGG fight fell through... Eubank Jr. called out GGG on Jun 25, 2016...
... So: WBA Mendoza had a more than one month window to "order" Golovkin vs Jacobs... WTF, lad?

This is the last answer I give you here...
On May 13 (one week before Canelo vacated his WBC belt and his mandatory GGG fight fell through), Jacobs was extremely fast to "announce" that he will be back on Jul 30, 2016 (on the Leo Santa Cruz vs. Carl Frampton card). [ source: ] . Later, Jacobs postponed and announced (Jul 1, 2016) that Mora II fight will take place on Sep 9 2016. [ //krikya360.com/daniel-ja...-fight--106243 ]

The Golovkin vs Brook fight was only announced on Jul 8, 2016...

Now: go and do your homework...

No fool, even after he vacated they said it was still in talks.

However the parallels are there. 147 Champ vs 160 Champion. That you can compare. If Brook beats GGG is it not comparable to SRL win over Hagler?.
No because Sugar Ray Leonard came back from a 3 year layoff to beat Hagler! That's incredible! And he only weighed-in @ 158. GGG has admitted that Brook will be his toughest fight ever, Hagler had already faced Duran, Hearns, Mugabi, etc., before fighting Leonard! It's a very bad comparison and diminishes both Leonard and Hagler. The link I gave you had a list of WW vs. MW. Pick something other than Duran vs. Hagler or Leonard vs. Hagler.

I wouldn't expect anything else from you. Of course I have a problem with comparing GGG to the Marvin Hagler that Leonard fought. Hagler had already beaten Duran, Hearns, and Juhn "The Beast" Mugabi. GGG has stated that Kell Brook will be his toughest fight to date. NO COMPARISON!
