You got a smart point in there.

They're the ones who talked junk about mandating Golovkin-Jacobs after Canelo situation was resolved, only to sit on their ass for months until it was too late.
This is how I feel about the whole cluster fcuk. Professional boxing is like a ship without a captain; and sanctioning bodies that claim to instill any semblance of transparency are as corrupt as the **** that infest the lower decks. Absolute vermin.

Also, it's simply WAY too premature to compare Golovkin to Hagler or Brook to Leonard. Let's get fcuking real here. Neither contemporary fighters have battled through a body of fire storms that build legends. I'll give GGG a bit of leeway because CLEARLY he's been ducked by fighters who cower inside promotional/backroom silos. These duckers are pathetic.

GGG can't fight Jacobs next because Jacobs has signed for another fight.

This is professional boxing - every voluntary defence by a world champion is a business fight, if you want to look at it that way.

Something dodgy is going on behind the scenes. We'll have to wait to find out what it is.
          I know, right?

It almost seems as thought the WBA is trying to goad GGG into vacating their title. If they strip him without cause they would get sued, but if he vacates, then they could elevate Jacobs to Super Champ (for whatever reason)......

as to that "reason", my first thought was Canelo-Jacobs for the full WBA title, but the Golden Boy - Haymon lawsuit still being active makes that unlikely......

It will be interesting to see how it all plays out, because it DEFINITELY doesnt pass the smell test.......
