I keep hearing from Golovkin fans that Ward turned down whoever this Gonzalez bloke is.....yet see no legitimate source to back up this information.

Gonzalez is a very strong and aggresive Cuban LHW. Inexperienced but good enough to give Pascal a real scare in his last fight. Most people, including me, think Gonzalez should have won that.

What happened with Gonzalez and Ward was very similar to the situation with that other Cuban kid and Golovkin. Gonzalez put himself forward as an opponent for Ward, but Ward picked somebody else instead.

When GGG did that with Lara, Ward's "fans", including you, started screaming DUCK.

Pascal/Kovalev worked because of the Canadian gate/ppv along with usual HBO $3mill. Outside of the Pascal fight - neither Ward nor Kovalev have generated a $1mill gate. Ward's best was vs Dawson with $706k. Kovalev just sold 2,000 tickets for Mohammedi, though I think Kovalev/Hopkins did about the same as Ward/Dawson.

Ward's fight vs Dawson was his peak popularity and it only generated 1.3mill tv rating in a prime time slot in September. Previous to that Dawson/Hopkins II, generated 1.6mill tv viewers (after their first fight had 50,000 ppv buys...) If they project 300k buys, that's a $9mill pot, $5mill should be enough for Ward, but who knows?

But here's the real problem - Ward's taking **** fights that won't elevate his popularity in order to sell this fight.

Kovalev would be the defending champion, with 3 belts on the line. Do you really think he would be willing to accept less than 50/50 against a challenger with a fan base as small as Ward's?

Kovalev can't win Ward's WBA SMW belt, and I don't think he would even get a lot of credit for beating a smaller man moving up.

If not a big payday, what's in this fight for Krusher? I'm surprised he's interested in Ward at all, tbh.

Again, I have read nothing about this except from Golovtards who claim that Ward turned down the fight.

I found an early odds line, UK style. Ward is an extremely marginal favourite (bet 5 to win 4) and Kovalev is even money.

That will change as the smart money lumps in for Kovalev. Ward simply will not be able to keep him off him.

In fact, if Froch would have woken up sooner and started eating more shots to get his own in he could have ground Ward down - as it was he won a few of the later rounds and Ward was tiring.

Kov is not Froch. Froch can box a bit, and ******ly tried to box Ward. Kov simply comes at opponents, and will not have any respect for Ward.

It will play out like that, 100%. Kov will at some point land something big, and then he will finish things off. It won't take him 6 rounds to land that something.

If Kovalev simply comes at Ward with him o respect, he's liable to get KO'd himself. Ward isn't a power puncher. But, he hits hard enough to keep folks off him. Plus, he's a mauler. And in the Agnew fight, Kovalev didn't seem to like the rough stuff. You're in for a rude awakening lil homie.

But he's Andre Ward and has always looked for prefight advantages over his opponents

If he's going to be forced by his own biology to move up to 175 lbs, why should he fight guys his own size when he can instead pay middleweights and supermiddleweights to move up with him?

Lol , we know u don't Kafkod , as you've expressed it over 1000 times . Im slightly a GGG fan too . I say slightly because he's , imo shown cowardly behavior by not moving up to the next division as he's obviously too good and too strong for 160 . I guess the question I should be asking u is 1)would u like to see Ward/GGG in addition to Ward/Kov , Or are u just like every other GGG FANATIC , playing mother goose protecting this egg ? And 2) r u a FAN or a FANATIC ? Fans hold even their favorite fighters accountable , while FANATICS excuse , pardon and possess an indefatigable tolerance for any sort of behavior

Yes Ward needs to explain his mismanaged career of fighting bums and long inactivity for over inflating Ward's self worth in Boxing which with no fan base is nothing almost non existent. Ward is basically a joke in boxing and an unknown who is not needed nor missed. Ward is just another dumb kid without a clue flailing away in deep water and cannot swim. Ward has no career and Ward has no fans. So no big deal.
