You are not a true fan of the sport if you think it is ACCEPTABLE for a LINEAL title to be fought at a catchweight. It is a RIDICULOUS tactic pulled by higher earning boxers wanting to gain any advantage they can.

If you do not see this as being a sign of fear then I would recommend you take courses in general psychology or a human behavior class to determine what triggers people to behave in a certain way.

Why is it okay for a fighter to grab a lineal title with a weight limit of 160 and then demand it be fought at 155? It's a rhetorical question because it's not. If you don't want to defend it at the true weight limit then vacate the belt and let their be an actual champion.

Most of the damn GGG lovers her fail to realize the Cotto is about to fight a very good fighter young fighter on November 21. And GGG is just stepping into the lime light.

GGG has had his chance to fight champions in different weight classes but has decided to fight scraps in one. Cotto has made history so this statement is very accurate.

GGG needs to fight the Quillens, and Wards. But his team knows the deal, to much risk with the hype momentum they have gained.

Wrong. Golovkin did not have any chances against champions of different classes. He has challenged them all, but none of them took the fight for one reason or another.

Quillin got his ass handed to him by GGG in sparring and has publicly stated he'll only fight Golovkin for Pac-level money. That's besides Quillin being protected by Haymon.
As for Ward, he was the one who failed to make the fight by requesting tune ups.

However if this was a real sport Cotto would not be able to call himself champion without defending against the best fighter at the weight every now and again.

Imagine if Germany just didnt turn up to the next World Cup and decided to declare that they were still champions? Makes no sense. In boxing this is common.

Hmm. No I don't. I see two fighters from two different divisions checking if they can fight at the halfway stage. How could one guy know the other one would not accept? Was it an unfair offer?


He will not have to fight for the belt. He already did when he beat Rubio. The belt will be handed to him.

I think ggg's team really painted themselves into a corner by leaving Ward in the breeze and waiting on the Canelo/Cotto winner. They have 0 option as a back up fight for big money so they are at the mercy of the winner. But, as keyboard warriors, we're entitled to cast judgment, and use words like "COWARD" and "PU$$Y" to castigate people who are more talented than us...people who literally put their flesh and blood into their work.
