The thing that Golovkin would do is finish his book, Cotto has been good for our sport and has given us many entertaining nights but should not be talking about doing the middleweight title on his terms and basically the weight he wants .If he wants to continue he needs to drop down to light middle and let the real middleweights battle it out.
I actually think Alvarez will beat him up and stop him and Cotto will probably retire.

Thank you. And I think the sanctioning fees with Cotto or Canelo having the belt is something the WBC will take into consideration. Canelo's purse by itself brings in more money than GGG vs an opponent

Then so be it. My point still stands. Which is Miguel is right. His story is written. Anything else at this stage is gravy.

Because it was one guy coming up in weight to fight another guy. The situation does not in any way resemble the situation between a champion and his mando. I'm sure you can understand.

Cutting through the chase here. Yes. Cotto-Canelo is a great matchup and almost a guaranteed great fight with plenty of storylines in its own right.

He actually does not need GGG. But I would love to see the fight.

                    ---

You must be really naive when it comes to boxing. Unfortunately for GGG he needs the belts to be relevant in the sport cause he's not a money guy, big named fighters are not running to try to fight him, like is the case for Floyd, Manny, Cotto and Canelo. He and his team haven't grasp this yet. Now, in the case of Canelo since you mentioned him, the guy is a very comfortable and privilege position, it just happens that the guy has the biggest following in the sport, which are the Mexican fans, not only that he's the face of his promotional company, why do you think Canelo has been fighting @ 155 for the last couple of yrs?, he has no belt, does this has affected him in any way?, NO...cause he does not need any belt, actually is the other way around, the belts need him, he bring MONEY and a lot!!!

Let me tell you what's going to happen when Canelo decides to announce that he's a full 160 lber. If he doesn't want to fight GGG, I guarantee you that organizations will start to strip GGG cause "he hasn't fulfill his mandatory defenses". Guess who the mandatory challenger will fight for the the belt? You guessed it, most likely Canelo...why?...cause he is the man who bring the $$$ and in this business everyone is after money!!! Floyd understood this very well and look what he did money wise!!!

As I said, I'm not dis*****g that he's done a lot in the sport but he's currently disrespecting the middleweight division.

The Cotto story will come to a conclusion in a few weeks anyway so this is all academic.
