It was said to Rafael in response to a question Loeffler was asked by Rafael. Loeffler did not initiate the topic. At the time this interview took place, Loeffler was also busy finalizing the Lemieux fight and Ward was the last thing on his mind. Fat Dan asked him a question and Loeffler tossed out an off the cuff answer.

And then the Wardtards jumped on it like jackals on a dead animal carcass. This is more an indication of the limited intelligence of the average boxing fan than anything else. I am constantly stunned at how low their average IQ seems to be.

Believe me, the clamor for the Ward vs Golovkin fight will be in full force just right after the Lemieux fight.

Either Ward mans up and do something about it, or just prepare for a more dangerous fight, which is Kovalev. If it's the latter, then he needs to tell the media about it, so fans can move on.

Stop fooling yourselves that Cotto or Canelo would fight Golovkin right away after their fight.

This Ward vs Golovkin issue has to be settled once and for all.

I do not see anything particularly noteworthy in beating a semi retired fighter who has fought three times in the last four years. If Ward starts fighting again at a pace of at least three fights per year against quality opposition and is able to unify the titles at SMW, then it would be a fight with some importance.

At this particular point in time, Ward is just another fighter who has a couple of decent wins FOUR YEARS AGO on his record.

idgaf wat he was hoping..hearn and froch are the dynamic duo across the pond..he was going to likely lose a decision that he deserved over there and only make 500k if that...it was not a big fight for him...it was a fight he felt he could win..he's a educated ducker...and he doesnt have to be...bc win lose or draw vs ward he has my respect and others respect for getting in with him..he can go right back to 160 and continue to unify after that, but he refuses to do so...its all but over now..i've given up on the fight

Uh, read my comment about why Fonfara deserves a service medal.

Get your fingers out of you ears.

Countless 10 plus page threads day after day and HBO just naming Ward and ggg number 1 and 2 does make it a "mega fight"

I see where denying it fits you agenda but that doesn't make it fact.

A nagging question, why don't you and the other ggg ball gaggers want to see ggg test himself. Call me crazy, but I wanted to see if gggs skills are actually good enough to beat a top shelf fighter like Ward. Approaching his mid 30s and not one top shelf fighter yet and no concrete plans to fight one

so money aside, if marquez would have beat floyd after the 2 year lay off that floyd took it would mean nothing to marquez?
i beg of u to please stop repeating wat u hear and follow wat the greats have done and u will respect the sport more...
titles should be one of the least important things..u wanna know why, bc the men who sanction them are corrupt..therefore their product cannot be wholesome...

ward is on the p4p list right now..and so is GGG...u know in your heart ward is a win he could boast on..if u know that please stop spreading nonsense...

The only people who are talking **** about Golovkin are Ward fans & Golovkin haters. Ward has been and continues to be virtually inactive for so long, we need to see a vid from 3 years ago to see him @ his best. Add to that the fact that he signed with Jay-Z, and one has to ask, where is Ward's career going? Surely, Golovkin isn't the only potential opponent for him. Get off the GGG hate train fellas, & start asking Ward when he's going to really get back in the game.

The winner of Cotto - Canelo MUST fight GGG in their next fight. They have no choice in the matter. They either fight GGG or they vacate the title. Try to tell yourself something different as much as you wish, the facts are the facts. This is not a matter of choice.

As for Ward... there is no Ward vs Golovkin matter to settle. Never has been, never will be. Ward will never fight at 168 again and expecting Golovkin to move to 175 to fight him is even more delusional than a Ward fan could possibly be.

u wer not right there and that is not how tom explained it..he said it was said in conversation...and dont play me as if he was drawing up the terms for david while he was around a bunch of media ppl...he spoke his mind and the truth...the blow back from non fanboys made him come with this "it was just a conversation"...but the truth was he had ever intention on getting all advantages..

GGG is a sham and not beating ward bc u wanted to fight a cotto who lost at every weight he's ever been at is not going to be excusable in the long run..bc fans know u can take 3 fights a year...and fans will someday ask why wasnt ward one of those fights...and
