I would seriously doubt it. When Ward fought on HBO, he was represented with Goosen. I would think that any contract that existed with HBO way back then became null and void when Goosen ceased to be Ward's promoter.

Ward wants what every fighter wants, shine AND a good payday, and Golovkin just so happens to be the easiest way to get it.

Which is a lot more than Golovkin wants from Ward !

I'm not talking about negotiations money wise. I'm talking about him fighting Froch & Chavez Jr at full 168 lbs, but the Ward fight has to be 164 lbs. Spare me the "negotiations" bullshit, too. Cuz all ya where doing was moaning & bitching about catchweights when it came to Cotto.

Funny how none of the Wardtards have responded to this post. What happened to tiliheels and his claim that Loeffler first discussed the 164 catchweight in front of a bunch of media?

I do realise that Hoya was a huge payday..... but Mayweather and Pacquiao went up in weight to fight him, and yet Golovkin will only go up for old Froch.

So wheres the DLH at 168? Froch was the closest thing, plus #1 active Smw, p4p rated and Wards best scalp. Ggg was ready to concede home turf, no tuneups needed. That's like Ward going up to fight Kov in Russia next.

Initially, Ward stated that 172 for the Smith fight was to help him work his way back down to 168. I imagined his next fight would be another tuneup at 170, and then 168 after that.

Not sure whats up now, I guess the weight they determine for his next fight will tell the whole story. Likely, 170 or under meaning SMW, or 172 and over meaning LHW.

The revelations over the last 2 weeks indicate that Golovkin/Ward will never happen..... he has Degale/Jack at 168, but those guys aren't established so maybe it is time for Ward to move up.

My guess is, that decision will depend entirely upon how easy it is for him to make 170/168..... if he can still make 168 he could stay put considering that Kovalev appears to be tied up for the immediate future.

But I am sure that he would make 168 for Golovkin if that fight was next.
