Laughable lawsuit(s) that are fueled by jealousy, envy and fear. Golden Boy and Top Rank are clearly afraid that Haymon and his partners are too much of a threat to their status quo mini boxing monopolies. It's almost laughable that De La Hoya made millions for years because of his association with Haymon, Mayweather and other Haymon managed boxers but now that the relationship has been severed, he upset and wants to sue.

Arum and Top Rank suing anyone in boxing is neither shocking nor news worthy. Arum will try and gain any advantage he can and in any way he can. A ridiculous, frivilous lawsuit that he can't possibly win is just another day at the office. Are we really to believe that NBC and it's affliates, Haymon and partners, etc., didn't do their due diligence before embarking in this multi-million dollar venture? Stop the madness.

Al Haymon is a crook. He should get out of boxing and run for office. People seem to like that type as president or at least governor of Illinois or something.

The irony here is unprecedented!!! Arum is suing another competitor for what again??? Lol

To all the lames happy about this lawsuit ,just shows what pieces of sh.it you are. This has been the best year in boxing in however long in large part because of the the PBC and you guys are happy for this lawsuit and want the PBC to fail ( But they pay their fighters too much , But they have too many dates , But Arum is upset ).

This has been the first weekend in like 3-4 months where there hasn't been a decent fight. And you b.i.tches cry about the best fighting the best but waive your Pom poms for the matches HBO has put up this year and before the PBC the best were rarely fighting the best regardless.

I'm suprised a gladiator sport like boxing has so many ho.e ass fans
It's been crap. Not just PBC either, almost all of it has been crap.

There was no reason for your reaction. Too defensive and accusatory. You pulled the same crap when I called you on the different reactions when Stevenson and Kovalev both moved away from that fight. You did the same thing when I called you J. Edgar Hoover relative to the SDF thread.

I didn't call or imply you or anyone in this thread was a racist for not agreeing with me or siding with Haymon.

And do not forget that the Association of Boxing Commissions asked U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch to initiate a DOJ investigation into the predatory practices of Haymon and Waddell & Reed.

I would bet they are pretty sure of their case by now. I think the recent revelations of Haymon attempting to block other promoters by falsely booking venues was the last piece they were waiting for to file their suit. With this suit and the existing one from ODLH and the possible DOJ investigation, Haymon and company may well be very busy in court for the foreseeable future. And who knows what else is waiting down the line for them?

I'm not a lawyer and never claimed I was, but that doesn't mean I don't know certain laws. Bob is at least half right and I don't know ****, I'm not a judge or been shown a case like a jury thinking differently is denial.

And I never said I agree with Bob, I'm just saying I have more faith and/or trust with a lawyer with a degree from Harvard which just so happens to be Bob. I never said Bob Arum was perfect but we're comparing him to Haymon. Arum has at least been in the same business for 40+ years, not thrown out.

And hey, maybe Al was trying to do something good for his people, I think he's genuinely trying to help boxing grow. He told people "I know I can make boxing big, I can make you guys (his investors) lots of money in 2-4 years. Trust me, I have a passion..." and he sold himself really well and as stated he probably has great intentions.

How he gets there is the issue. Obviously he doesn't mind bending the rules at the very least to get things done. That's fine until you start pissing off the wrong people and it wasn't like he didn't just lose to Oscar already. He settled with Oscar after Haymon was sued for trying to take over the company, him and Schaefer. Now he pissed off Top Rank and well, he might have the best lawyers in the world but they need money and even they probably can't handle that work load. They need to do double the work while there's twice as many people analyzing what they do... twice as much.

I don't like Haymon you very well know this, but I like PBC and as stated, I don't think Haymon is out to just take money ala Don King, he has good intentions. But his reign is looking to be pretty short lived. Forget losing what if he settles each at 50% of what they want? That's still $200 million that's a wrap for Haymon.
Ok, I understand your points. We will see.

Mini monopolies? Two separate companies can not have a monopoly in the same business.

And no matter how much GBP may have made, it doesn't excuse Haymon/Schaeffer trying to steal his business. Haymon has already paid millions to make that go away.

From what I am reading, there very well be some loopholes Haymon is exploiting. Mostly I see Bob whining because his way of doing things is becoming obsolete.

That said, it will be interesting to see if this holds water.

Your response, aggressive, defensive and accusatory, is telling.

I maintain your use of the word overpaying is ridiculous.
