Only an idiot would jump to a conclusion like yours. Therefore, I am not surprised that you would come to this conclusion.

Ali was KO'd late in his career when he had no business going into the ring. If Mayweather fights five more years, he will be KO'd by someone too because he will be too old to be in the ring.

Marvin Hagler didn't get knocked out by two journeymen, so therefore, that is an adequate measuring stick.

Marvin Hagler was a better boxer and puncher than Pacquaio. He could fight backwards and forwards (unlike Pacquaio, who can only fight going forward). Also, Hagler had an iron chin. In fact, if Marquez had hit Pacquaio with punches as hard as Tommy Hearns hit Hagler with, Pacquaio not only would have been out twice as long as he was, he would have never fought again.

Actually, Ali was saved from a KO in 1963 against Henry Cooper by a couple smart tricks from Angelo Dundee.

Basically, this could have been (and perhaps should have been) a proper knockout. But this hardly detracts from one of the best resumes in boxing history.

      From Wikipedia:

"...In the dying seconds of the fourth round, Cooper felled Clay with an upward angled version of his trademark left hook, "Enry's 'Ammer". Unfortunately for Cooper, his opponent's armpit caught in the ropes going down, which prevented his head from striking the canvas covered boards which made up the floor of the ring (something which could easily have knocked him unconscious).[6]

Clay stood up and started slowly towards Angelo Dundee who - in violation of the rules - guided him into the corner. At first Dundee talked and slapped Clay's legs, but after a still-dazed Clay misunderstood and tried to get off the stool Dundee used smelling salts in a serious violation of the rules. (British rules did not allow any stimulant but water.)[9] Dundee has since claimed to have opened a small tear in one of Clay's gloves and told the referee that his fighter needed a new pair of gloves, thus delaying the start of the 5th round....."

I see the "black power" mafia is in full affect in this thread. Manny's resume is greater and was more physically gifted than Hagler.

somebody even brought up race....black pride or some crap

Hagler was one of the most complete fighters of all-time......speed, strength, boxing skills, great chin, work ethic....from the late 70s to the around 83 IMO Hagler was the best fighter p4p in the world.....Ray's on brother wanted him to stay away from Marvin in 80-82

p4p is if they were the same size, who would win

Hagler was more multi-faceted than Manny....could fight forward, backwards, WAR, counterpunch, stalk, beat all styles and was more dominant than Manny

Manny is more beloved than Hagler, who wasn't even a star in his own time

the Mugabi, Hearns, and Leonard fights are the only ones most people ever even saw a clip of....they need to do their research

Pac is better overall, you can include all Pac's flaws that he is called out on and he still is a better fighter overall.

duran outboxed him whenever he had the stamina to do so, if the weight isn't too much for pacquiao i'd take a prime pacquiao to outbox hagler to a decision

if they are the same size, forget it, pacquiao dominates

Duran was much better at that type of fight than Pacquiao is, and is a better fighter than Pacquiao in general.

P4P, it is a very good and interesting fight. No way Pacquiao dominates.
