Manny Pacquiao, better fighter than Marvin Hagler, do you agree?

Duran is much a better counter puncher and pure boxer than Pacquiao. He was better defensively as well. That's on top of being about as complete a pressure fighter as ever existed. There are very few fighters in boxing history as good as Roberto Duran was. There's a reason he was old and overweight yet could compete with the best middleweights in the world.

P4P, Hagler is plenty good enough to make Pacquiao come at him, use his jab to disrupt Pac's rhythm, and counter him. There is no way Pacquiao dominates that fight, even if they're the same size. He might win, both are great fighters and it's hard to say one guy definitely beats the other, but it would not be a domination either way.

again, i'd like a recommendation of a fight where hagler is boxing and showing off his counter-punching skills

he is no where near Duran who was arguably the greatest lightweight champion, who started at bantamweight and went on to beat fighters who were champions from featherweight to lightheavyweight



Duran lost one time in his prime and avenged it twice by ko.....Manny got outboxed by a past prime erik morales, knocked out by 2 no names as well before he was 30 years old

You could take your pick of most his fights around the time he won the title and early in his reign. Prime Hagler was a very complete fighter.

lol, no he wasn't, not even close, duran boxes flat-footed, pacquiao will circle the sht out of anyone that stands with him while punching the daylights out of them, a great counter-puncher himself, much faster and a big puncher also

p4p, hagler loses just about every round, too much activity, too much footwork, too much speed, unless he can ko pacquiao

Duran was a far more complete fighter than Pacquiao. Montreal Duran would probably stop Manny.

i've watched plenty of his fights, fights where he's moving through-out but i haven't seen any great or much at all counter-punching from him, this is why im asking for a recommendation

take a lil time out and check out a few of the videos I share.....Hagler was always balanced,, crisp jab, combos, good speed and power pre-1982....he slowed down a lot IMO after these years

The ******ity here is endless. Pacquiao is a promoter creation full of weight draining strategies and opportunistic matchups after his opponents already lost. Hagler beat everybody and fought everybody. My favorite hagler fights are against mugabi , hearns , and duran. Pakiao and mayweather are overhyped with todays media. Like really who did they beat ? Canelo ( loll ) ? On his knee cotto ? Maidana ( cant even box against a boxer ) ? Paquiao made a name fighting old legends when he was younger , marquez at age 41 backfired though lol. Hagler was never put to sleep like that and any one who tried would end up pissing blood for days. Paquiao has skill ? Against who though ? Bradley a decent boxer boxed circles around his "speed". Its nice to look fast against rios or margarito. Please. Dont compare. The 80s boxers were so superior. Now boxing is garbage. Paper champs and they dont even fight mandatories , just names and the older with name value the better.

I completely agree, 100% boxers today get too much credit overhyped IMO

If you want to see a lot of Hagler's counter punching this is a good fight to watch.
