Your correct.. Judging by ufc ratings and their deal with fox, and wwe and USA, PBC is gonna need to average 3 mi or higher..

Ufc and wwe on occasion can grab 5+ mil viewers.. PBC needs to be able to show they can deliver that with their key big fights like a stevenson-kovolev or broner-khan, Maidana-lucas..

If they can land ufc, wwe type ratings then I think they will get the deal they want..

But if they can't deliver those tyoe ratings then they will probably be offered a lowball deal, which in turn would make it impossible to pay the checks they are paying...

Haymon is trying to do what Dana White did with the UFC. So far, the numbers are showing he might be able to pull it off.

Stevenson-Kovalev would cost a lot of money to put together, yet it's unlikely either would bring in a ton of advertising money in the US.

So while Haymon could dig into his investor money if he wants to buy that purse bid, it's hard to see how they would make their money back for that fight.

I get that they have a lot of money to spend...but you'd think a network would want to see the PBC prove they can draw ratings while living within some of budget...not breaking the bank for fight cards that they can't make their money back on.

But whatever...Haymon seems to have a talent of talking network execs out of their money...maybe he can do it again.

You are forgetting that those who couldn't afford premium cable/PPV had the black box. People who could paid, people who couldnt got the box, but everyone watched the fights. If you look at boxings fall from the mainstream, it's right around the same time cable went digital and the black box was no more.

Someone sent behindthegloves.com a pic of a PBC Featherweight belt and they ran with the story, then had to apologize.

They only this works is if a PBC guy becomes the next crossover star in the sport like a Floyd, Oscar, or Pacquiao. A guy that makes casual sports fans tune into watch. Right now PBC fighters are a bunch of low B and C caliber guys that don't bring in anything but average ratings.
Haymon's backround is in producing music concerts. Its all about the hype and getting people in the door. Who cares if the show stinks because the money's already being counted. Its how he built Floyd up using reality tv show tactics and fake drama but there is not another Floyd out there on the horizon. It will be interesting to see how long Haymon can allow PBC to keep bleeding money like it has in its first year.

                      Yes, more belts.

                      That's exactly what boxing needs.
