you can't see any good on it because you lack vision... You can only see the status quo...

Your the person in the 70s n 80s that thought it was crazy for people to have personal computers in there homes...

You the type that thought everyone would forever use a phonebook and would have snickered at the idea of Internet searchin 1992

Your the guy that thought rap music was a fad in 1980s
Or rock n roll in the 60s

He has his own belts, so eventually he can draw the best talent, and eventually have the recognized #1 belts, because he pays the highest and gets the best fighters... It won't happen overnight, but 10-15 years from now if his plan succeeds he will have destroyed the sanctioning bodies into minor irrelevant belts like mma has with bellator, WSOF, Dream, etc

Why would boxers prefer to fight for pbc belts, when there's at least 4 other belts out there, and their unification would give the fighter the title of "unified champion of the division"? Why would a pbc belt have more value than the wbc belt,or the wba belt? Does haymon just expect the organizations to just disappear, and the fighters who have rankings in those organizations to just drop their positions, and strive towards belts that where just made up? Your theory about the future might be true, but for now the belts would hold little to no value in the sport, and would be the definition of "paper belts".
      Haymon will pay the most...

He already pays the best out of everyone in boxing... Guys flock to him because of it...
Much like how every basketball player would choose an NBA deal compared to any others..
Haymon pays the money, doesn't rip fighters off, eventually he will keep grabbing more and more talent, and in doing so will legitimize him as the legit boxing belts...
Like I said, it will take years, but the wwe, ufc, nfl, NBA, mlb are the highest paying and so is Haymon.. If his plan succeeds and he lands his TV deal, then it's only a matter of time before he is the top dog

I like Alan Rickman also, I like him in Quigly Down Under also.

UFC is more what boxing might have developed into if history had been different but that boat was sailed a long ago. I like the idea of boxing becoming centralized and formed into a proper single entity but I do not like that being done by a promoter.
It got priced out because of the premium networks, but it also hurt the sport.. And now you have seen smaller and smaller amount of stars..

80s tyson spinks hearns, leonard, Duran Hagler Camacho Holmes

90s was were we say the fall of free TV and only had relics from the 70s 80s like tyson and foreman,, and then Holyfield Oscar and roy...

Now it has boiled down to 2 stars in the sport floyd and manny, and a bunch of regional/national stars like cotto, canelo, etc......

You don't see any other major sports on premium networks and there is a reason for it... It will kill the casual audience and about 90% of your audience..
Boxing took short term gains over long term growth and is now paying the price..

He's paying better right now because he's using investor money...and prior to that it was HBO/SHO money.

There's no guarantee that he can get a tv deal or that if he does get one, that it will be big enough to continue on at the $$ he's spending at.

Like I said many times in this thread,,, it all banks on the TV deal... That's the key...

And besides, if all things equal, Haymon charges less than other promoters.. He isn't ripping off fighters like other promoters

That philosophy, as a means of attracting talent only works for so long. Its doable in the short term when you are talking 15-20 guys on premium cable. Most people though understand that Haymons pay scale is not sustainable with 200+ fighters on his own time-buys......

True but if all goes well then it is sustainable...

Nfl, NBA, wwe, etc consistsntly pay top dollar year after year, decade after decade..

And even before PBC and his 100 million war chest, Haymon was getting top dollar for his fighters

So this basically means Top Rank and Golden Boy aren't going to go after these PBC belts.

So we still won't be seeing the best vs the best
