If that's what hurt means, what the hell does 'didn't even hurt him a little bit' mean? It honestly sounds like by your wack definitions, buzz is a lighter version of hurt which sounds like hurt him a little bit is within reason.

lol at playing the semantics game tho.

Perhaps instead of throwing right away he should have tried to back up.

Basically I'm wondering how the strategy should be, but as crazy as this is going to sound, and it is ****in crazy, maybe pac was not wrong to not think super offensively. Maybe defense was what worked at all. Those combos he threw didn't hit much or effect May.

On the other hand, Manny isn't exactly known for his ability to duck away from punches. Plus, I think it's hard to say that there even exists a gameplan at all that can reliably beat Mayweather.

Edit: Don't know if this is a 'counter' punch per se but
Very good points, nice post and very refreshing to have a conversation with someone willing to analyze the fight as opposed to clog the board with post after post of Insults. I still think the best game plan and Pacquiao's best chance was to attack and not try and out box Mayweather. As you accurately stated, Pacquiao Is not a hard target to find. Offense was key. Credit to Mayweather for being able to neutralize what little offense Pacquiao produced.

If In fact there Is a rematch, which hopefully there Isn't, I think the game plan for Pacquiao will be to swing for the fences. The problem will be at 37 trying to sustain a relentless attack.

I agree. Manny's plan was to come in and win a boxing match because all the other plans used in the past failed.

Unfortunately, Floyd is the last true boxer/counter puncher. So his coach should have explained this....unless he was so blinded by his trainer of the year award that he actually thought he could outbox Floyd.

Manny needed to be Manny to at least have a chance. It was what brought him to this point in his career so why change now?

Actually Manny's small but noticeable success with counters was pretty admirable. He's never been a solid counter puncher.

Where's all of this sudden complaining about "bending below the waist" coming from?

I don't seem to recall many people complaining about it before. Why is it of "such" high importance now? What has changed? Is there an emotional reason behind all of this complaining about a tactic that has been used for decades?

And more importantly, why aren't some fighters able to negate this "tactic" by simply throwing looping punches lower to the exposed head of the person bending at the waist? Why is that so hard?

God forbid anyone ever tries to duck under Pacquiao's punches
