Good stoppage..............you taught to get up ON your legs by 8!!
Almost all the time when you rise at 9 your going to show the ref your not really ready to go! Sorry but that's true more times than not.
The kid was getting ready to get blasted out! No big problem with the end.

    Ray.

Paulie at first said the stoppage was alright then completely changed his tune several minutes later, he doesn't want to piss off his employer. He's a loud mouth diva.

It was a premature stoppage but at the same time...Ortiz lazily got up. It was very lackadaisacal. He should've been looking at the ref in the eye with gloves up.

But it was all just lazy. Yea, the ref should give the fighter the benefit of the doubt,...but at the same time, there shouldn't be a riot over this.

The man would be done anyways within a couple of rounds. Looked like his legs were done after that body shot.

If you could have gotten up at 7 as opposed to 9, then get up idiot. By the time you resume fighting, you'll be at 15 seconds anyway! If you're fine at 7, then you're fine at 8 seconds; stand up as opposed to leaving it to the referee, who's seen enough knockdowns he knew that when you began to bend and stand up at 9, you wanted out.

Ortiz was slow, tentative, carrying his hands very high to protect himself. There was no going to round 3 when he took that paralyzingly hook to the liver, the same one Bhop stopped Oscar with. Wait till you see the look on Ortiz face going down. Lol!
I think the ref should have gave him the benefit of the doubt. Estevez is a terrible ref and its not the first time hes had bad calls.

What's the point in having a 10 count then? Oh well, lets just pretend the rules don't exist.

That guy deliberately waited until 9 and half to start getting up so he could have a built-in excuse for why he packed it in.

                  Ortiz did the right thing....

How many inexperienced fighters try to get up right away and don't take the count to recover?

The fight was just warming up now with that knockdown....

Dummy Benji wife beater Estevez had to stop the fight and robbed us from some action.

3)He spat his mouth piece, maybe trying to buy more time, maybe trully DONE, either way there wasnt much point in going on.
4)He got up at 9 1/2, when boxers trying to juice every second will usually get up at 8 just to avoid any close call.
5)Lets be honest, he didnt complain until later, he was clearly done.
                    Nah...
                    1) He wasn't hurt before by body shots -- he faked that in order to fool Lucas.
                    2) That liver shot didn't kill him because we all saw him alive and well.
                    3) No: he dropped his mouthpiece in order to check if it was his or somebody elses.
                    4) He got up immediately and jumped forward.
                    5) You don't have the right to call anybody to be honest about whatever.

I don't know how the rules are written on this. When a guy is still down at 9 and then attempts to jump up before the ref reaches 10, he has only himself to blame.
Yea but to me he did get up and wasnt wobbly or anything that would make the ref think that ortiz couldn't continue.
