It's called a TEN COUNT not a NINE COUNT.

Goddamn refs and their incompetent judging.

Benjy is a POS puertorican that doesn't like Mexicans. I wonder how much he pocketed for that?

He didn't want to continue to fight and it was hurt. He should have gotten up at 6 or 7 and the ref would have still counted to 9. He did it to himself.

I thought it should have went on but a fighter shouldn't stay down to the count of nine, he should be upright at nine.

Bad stoppage, but when a ref sees a guy take a knee and not get up by 8, they tend to assume you're not getting up. Stand the **** up before 9.5 seconds or this is the risk.

It was worse than Chisora-Scott. Ortiz got up as the ref said 9. Scott got up as the ref waved his hands, but here the ref was waving his hands in the face of a standing fighter. It was pure nonsense.

It's time they either deducated pay from referees for this kind of horrific error or they had a commissioner that can overrule the referee and order a fight to resume.

Don't try to turn into that. Ortiz is a d1ckhead, I don't feel bad for him at all.

Ortiz left it late but the ref jumped the gun. How hard is it for an experienced ref to count to ten?

I've seen UK fights where the ref counts a fighter out in that exact fashion a million times.

US refs tend to let the fighter go. But, I don't know that barely getting your knee off the canvas before the ref reaches 10 equates to beating the count.

I don't know how the rules are written on this. When a guy is still down at 9 and then attempts to jump up before the ref reaches 10, he has only himself to blame.
