Nobody ever complained in the past.
Sugar Ray Leonard made Danny Lalonde come down from 175 to 168 to fight for his light-heavyweight title and the new super middle weight title. He also fought Hearns for the super middle weight title at 163.
Others were..
Julio Cesar Chavez vs Meldrick Taylor for the welterweight title at 145.
Pernell Whitaker vs Cesar Chavez for welter title at 145.
Terry Norris vs Meldrick Taylor for the junior middleweight belt at 150.
Oscar De La Hoya vs Bernard Hopkins for the middleweight championship at 158.
If camp Golovkin agrees, then make the fight. It'll be a good one.

Of course. He would say that. If GGG would've went the distance and looked less than devastating, he'd say yeah, let's do it. Or if GGG was 39 with injuries. That's what I call a cherry picking azz trainer. #Weak

[QUOTE=jesuswalks28;14817704]Originally posted by The Surgeon View PostA catchweight fight here makes all kinds of sense, The size gulf is massive here after all! GGG says he would fight at 154 for Miguel or Floyd and he wouldn't even have to go that low. HOWEVER where my problem lies is when titles are on the line at a limit less than the divisions limit - are u the middleweight champ or not!? Its BS and Cotto knows it, remember Pacquaio.... No coincidence Roach was in Mannys corner for that either!
The truth is Cotto is a great fighter but he doesn't belong at middleweight despite his great win there over Sergio, he was a small WW! Id like to see him drop down and face Alvarez, then guys coming up like Bradley, Maidana ect or a Mayweather rematch.... BUT if he is gonna stay at MW then he should fight Golovkin and without any special weight stipulations.
I agree 100%! My problem is, why is cotto always the one fighting the toughest opponents & Mayweather get to skate by. Why the double standard? I know Money is the best now, but he always gets a pass. cotto, fights everyone!

I just shake my head....
...All the Cotto Ricans said Cotto would blow GGG out of the water. Now to fight for the MW title at super welter limit???? Raoch is a poosy. Cotto a has been. And then all the Wardaholics want GGG to fight at 168. WTF You people all suck. Nobody wants him at HIS weight. Freaking poosys!!!!!!!!!!

[QUOTE=Bronx2245;14817801]Originally posted by jesuswalks28 View PostI don't think Cotto has to take a fight with GGG. He can fight someone like Andrade at 154, take his belt, and then get a rematch with Floyd in NYC. Floyd has a license in NYC, so He and Cotto can co-promote a mega-event for the 154 belts. It would be bigger than Cotto vs. Canelo, and yet Cotto would be fighting a smaller fighter than Canelo and GGG. It's a win-win for Cotto.
He's not just going in there and taking the belt from Andrade if that fight happens... The risk/reward is very unfavorable for Cotto imo.
Cotto-Golovkin @ 157, no less.
