Beating a Paul Williams as his biggest win doesn't convince me that he's one of the elites.
Cotto walks trough Martinez like he did Quintana...my bold prediction
that Williams win you speak of is still a better win than Cotto has on his resume

His reflexes have been fading fast in the past few years, I think thats going to be his biggest hinderance in this fight. I have a hunch he will be there to be hit all day by Cotto.

You know, I don't honestly think Martinez looked THAT bad against Chavez. I mean, I could tell Jr.'s size was preventing Sergio from really getting him hurt, but he basically outboxed Chavez for 11 rounds; it was that final round that people recall in retrospect, as if the rest of the fight never happened- and Cotto just doesn't have one punch power.

So Martinez looked ****ty against Murray. Granted.

        Cotto looked ****ty against Trout.

Those versions of each fighter still has Martinez knocking Miguel out, I think.

When Chavez Jr actually threw, he landed against Martinez. The first like 6 rounds, he seemed really worried about getting hit by Martinez, in the 12th round he fought exactly how he should have the whole fight. Of course Martinez’s footwork and punch output also played a huge role, but Chavez Jr doesn’t particularly cut the ring off well, and you can see his punches coming from a mile away.

Cotto looked like crap against Trout, but I won’t blame all that on his conditioning, I think stylistically Cotto has problems with fighters like Trout, but I think a Cotto trained by Roach would have won that fight. Roach makes all his fighters better offensively, Cotto for the past few years became a more cal,. less aggressive fighter, which hurt him.

Now I know your dreaming. Martinez stamina has never been in question. The guy used to be a cyclist, FFS! If he paces himself, there's no way he runs out of gas. The only time he might possibly run out of gas is if he's using TONS of movement, like against JCC Jr. Even then, it wasn't that he gassed, it's that he injured his knee.

As everyone here has already said, if Martinez's knee holds up, Cotto is getting beat down. We all know it.

              How am I dream?

In his last like 6 fights, by the 6 round he’s already breathing out his mouth, then he catches his second wing by the 10 round or so, I’m now that he’s older, I can’t see that bailing him out.

I think you are crazy, i can't really believe how many people are picking Cotto to win. Do you really just book on Sergio's injuries and his knee not holding up? That's it? I remember when Vitali Klitschko came back and alot of people here claimed Sam Peter would destroy him and Vitali is shot and his injuries would haunt him, he wouldnt even make it into the 2nd round. You know what happened, right?

Cotto is a very fanfriendly and likeable fighter but did you guys forget how he looked against Austin Trout? Martinez is better in every single category than Austin Trout. Cotto looked good in his last fight but that was against an overmatched guy. I think this will be a good fight, but i see Martinez imposing his size, reach, movement and power, winning most of the rounds or probably stopping Cotto in the mid-late rounds.

If you think Cotto wins easily against Martinez then i really wonder why some of you want to see GGG vs Martinez because that would be an absolute slaughter.

Your worried about Sergio's stamina? Cotto has some of the worst late round stamina I've ever seen. Starting with the first Margarito fight; he was completely gassed by about round 6 in that fight, then Clottey stopped punching at the end of that fight so it's hard to judge that one, he was a sitting duck late against Pacquiao, Mayorga was a joke, against Floyd he looked great in the middle rounds and completely gassed the last 3, and imo lost the Trout fight bc he lost the last few rounds. The guy's stamina is garbage past round 8 or 9.

He was out on his feet tired in the 12th. It's the only reason Chavez was able to catch him and put him down.

That had more to do with beating on a 180+ punching bag for 30 minutes, that'd tire any middleweight out.

                      You're completely wrong there

If Martinez and Cotto were the same size, Martinez would still be leagues above Cotto as a fighter.
