Saying Martinez has no shot is silly. With that said Cotto will beat him. 117-111. Hes the better fighter and boxer and its not close. The skill level gap is wide imo.

Cotto will be the Middleweight champion of the world.

Yeah if this was welterweight. And like 5 years ago. But this is middleweight and post Margarito/Clottey/Pacquiao/Mayweather/Trout. Lot's of millage on Miguel.

And even more mileage on Martinez. Lets face hes looked terrible in his last couple of fights. No power, sloppy, lethargic, no speed, rapidly fading reflexes, quickness or agility, no kind of defense, no smarts. Hes just looked brutal. He will need to bring a hell of a lot of more vs a guy as skilled as Cotto.

If people think size will win this they must have never seen Martinez fight. He doesnt fight tall on the outside and he doesnt fight strong on the inside. Very winnable fight for Miguel.

Martinez is "bigger" but he doesnt fight big at all. And if Martinez tries to run it will be running against a fighter who cuts off the ring better than anyone in boxing.

I actually chuckle at the thought of him with his hands down only to take a jab in the mouth by one of the best jabbers in all of boxing. Martinez only has a punchers chance imo.

I don’t know if Martinez is getting knocked out, because Cotto might not be able to bring his power up with to 159, but he will win this fight fairly easily. I'd be shocked if Martinez won more than 3 rounds.

If Martinez wins tonight, I wont post on here for 3 months, thats how confident I am.
              See you in 3 months!

Like the one that helped him pull away from Pavlik when it seemed like he was starting to lose somewhere around 5 or 6. The dude is a champion for a reason. Look no futher than the JccJr fight for a reference on his stamina.
I’m aware of that, but at this age, I can’t see that baling him out, also if Cotto decides to go to the body like he did against Rodrigues, than there won’t be a second wind. Believe me I hop I’m wrong, I need to take a break from this forum, and I want Sergio to win.

If Cotto doesn't get hit squarely with any solid power shots he'll be good.

Of course, that's all but impossible..

People seem to be missing the real point here. They'll understand a little later this evening.

                    Murray fight:
dislocated elbow 4 days before the fight
re-injured meniscus 2 weeks before the fight
minor rotator cuff injury before the fight
                    fought outside in a downpour
broke his left hand on Murray's elbow in the second round
fought a big MW that was taller than he was

                    This fight:
                    no injuries at all
had almost a year and a half to recover from all his injuries
fighting a jmw that he is taller than, has a longer reach than, is stronger than

                    I see some differences here.

Also, everyone is fixated on Sergio's injuries and his age. They aren't seeming to understand that he's really a natural Junior Middleweight who has been fighting naturally bigger men for the sake of good commerce and an increased profile in the sport. Tonight, he's going to be the bigger guy and it will show when the time comes.
