I don’t know if Martinez is getting knocked out, because Cotto might not be able to bring his power up with to 159, but he will win this fight fairly easily. I'd be shocked if Martinez won more than 3 rounds.

If Martinez wins tonight, I wont post on here for 3 months, thats how confident I am.
You're going to feel pretty ****** on here either later tonight or tomorrow if you decide to come back.

I'm kind of suprised that, as such a Martinez fan you are unaware of his incredible second wind he always finds in the middle of a fight. Like the one that helped him pull away from Pavlik when it seemed like he was starting to lose somewhere around 5 or 6. The dude is a champion for a reason. Look no futher than the JccJr fight for a reference on his stamina.

I got my money on Cotto. Martinez is so overrated.
Beating a Paul Williams as his biggest win doesn't convince me that he's one of the elites.
Cotto walks trough Martinez like he did Quintana...my bold prediction

Exactly. Until the weight in where the size difference was so stark, I thought the fight was pretty even. Now that I see how much bigger Maravilla is, it's hard for me imagining Cotto wining unless Sergio is just completely not the same guy who beat Williams, Pavlik and JCCJr.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion but he also beat Pavlik and took the lineal championship held by Hopkins and Taylor. Then he knocked out three other quality guys as an encore. The guy is not overrated. (not that Cotto is)

Is Sergio 100%? We don't know.

Is Miguel actually improving under Roach? We can't say for sure.

To harp on Martinez's last shaky performance against Murray, and not admit that Miguel Cotto was not able to get it done against Austin Trout- a type of guy we KNOW Cotto could have handled a few years prior- isn't fair.

To say "Miguel just didn't train hard enough for Trout" is basically the same as saying "Sergio was just hobbled by injury with Murray".

To say Miguel trained harder and is the Cotto of old is more or less saying Martinez has recuperated from all surgeries and is close to the Maravilla of old. We just don't know. None of us on these forums can know.

It's the entire reason this fight is so intriguing. Perhaps after the first 3 minutes we can all see where each guy stands, but at this point we're all making guesses as to how much Cotto and how much Martinez have left.

All we have for CERTAINTY is the Cotto who couldn't get past Trout and the Martinez who couldn't outclass Murray.

Everything past that is pure speculation.
Good post and the jury is still out on how good Murray is as well.

Yup, a very brutal and bloody soap opera. Sort of like my fix since Dexter ended.
