Marquez wants to avenge his loss to Bradley. He hopes Bradley wins against Pacquiao, so he has a shot at winning his belt, thus making history as the first Mexican fighter to win championships in 5 weight classes. This will break the tie that he has with Erik Morales in 4 weight classes. Then he will retire. He knows he can't just sit around waiting for a title shot without fighting someone, so he chose Alvarado to stay in the game. Both Alvarado and Bradley have Provo in common. If Marquez beats Alvarado, the logic is that he somehow belongs in the title mix. He thinks Mike is the easier choice, especially since he just came off a hard defeat from Provodnikov. Despite what Juan says about not needing the LWW title again, Provo is a tough fight and a potential big roadblock in his quest to rematch Bradley.

Then that means Provo is ducking "BAM BAM". Provodnikovs team was making the excuse that rios couldn't make 140lbs. Rios says he can make the weight. What's the excuse now. There is no bigger fight money wise out there at the moment. He knows Rios can hurt him maybe even stop him. Bradley was putting it on him to the point where Roach was going to stop the fight. Imagine what rios would do to him. He knows it's a high risk fight. He doesn't want to risk having a set back. So he chose to duck him.
