Why is it that you question only Marquez, but do not have the same questions about Pacquiao.
No fighter going into his thirties who came out of the flyweight and bantamweight divisions ever improved dramatically moving up to lightweight, much less welterweight or jr. middleweight. No fighter ever carried that much speed and power up in weight. Only Pacquiao. But Pacquiao is the clean one right? Just hard work and Jesus right?

Man, whoever thinks JMM is ducking CLEARLY knows nothing about boxing. He's ducking Provo but is willing to fight Pac four times and if he beats Bradley a fifth time? So Provo is a better, more dangerous fighter than Pac? Stfu please. Provo beats up on alvaredo, who was Taylor made for him and is a B classfighter, and now he's the baddest man on the planet. Please don't forget when bradley decided to box Provo, he CLEARLY was whooping his ass. A boxer that moves around and doesn't slug it out with him can beat him easily.

There's two reasons why JMM is fighting alvarado.
1) Provo wanted to fight at 140. Since JMM only goal is another crack at the welter title, he wants to fight at or near 147.

2) since he really wants another shot at the title, he's doing what he needs to do to get it. If Pac wins, no doubt he gets his chance because Pac wants the fifth fight BUT IF BRADLEY WINS, there's no telling which direction he will go . By beating alvarado, he will become the mandatory challenger for the title and maybe thats enough to finish convincing Bradley to give him a rematch.

marquez is only a 3 division titlist anyway. he keeps pretending that he won a title at 140 when he didn't. he won an interim belt and then they made him regular champ except he never even defended that belt or won it in the ring so that hardly counts. how about winning a legit belt against prov or garcia? guess he doens't care. he wants that easy money.

Marquez EARNED his way up. he was living in the shadow of Morales and Barrera. this might be a shock but he did exist before his Pacquiao fight. he wants to make his mark on Mexican boxing which isn't easy when you see all the legends there. a 5th title puts him there. Marquez is fighting for legacy and Provodnikov doesn't offer that. at the end of his career he wants to win a 5th title. a fight with Provonikov doesn't get him that but Alvarado does. don't blame Marquez blame the sanctioning bodies.

what some people don't understand is their is ALWAYS somebody challenging you to fight when you have name in the sport.

With all due respect the interest in you fighting provodnikov for us didn't center around a belt...this man was fighting mad for a rematch with Bradley well Provodnikov took Bradley to hell and back..a win over him would've created some sort of interest in JMM getting his rematch with Bradley (Although I don't think he deserves one). Let's be real here..this cat is fighting alvarado at 144 so it's not like he's even fighting at 147 so what's the big difference? Beyond the fact he could've brought in a win to over the #2 fighter at 140 to the table of negotiations for his challenge at a 147 belt. He thinks alvarado is a safer fight and so does nacho...alvarado will not be a walk in the park and if he loses that fight it's a wrappppp.
