Mike Tyson VS Bruce Lee. No rules street fight. Who wins and how?

Ray was 46. The relevance is, a relative "non-fighter" beat a bonafide "fighter" in a fight. Being 46 and relatively out of shape shouldn't stop a professional fighter from beating some guy who's beating up on bums in the street. Should it?

Yeah of course it could. He beat a fighter, not in his profession, when he was 46 and completely fat and out of shape.

I still don't see the point I've never said that every actual fighter would beat up guys that aren't fighters. I'm sure there's plenty of guys that could beat THAT Ray Mercer. Still doesn't make them actual fighters.

Kimbo is a fighter anyway albeit not a very good one. But when he was "street fighting" he was "THE BEST!" would "KILL TYSON IN HIS PRIME!" Don't mean to be facetious

Now, as to the rest of the discussion: the question first posed asks who would win a streetfight between Lee and Tyson. You laughed it off and said it was silly because Bruce was never even a fighter, that he never fought professionally. Well, here's a guy, Kimbo Slice, who never fought as a pro and beat a guy who did as a boxer (just like Tyson) in a very early paid fight. Kimbo's fighting ability didn't magically materialize because he was suddenly being paid. In fact, he was being paid precisely because he had fighting ability.

That's a completely different scenario.

#2, beating Mercer at all at that stage proves absolutely nothing. I'm sure a list of people who aren't fighters would have a shot at beating that Mercer as long as you don't let him hit you.

# 3 Kimbo Slice, is not going to do what he did to Mercer to any other world class professional fighter.

In all honesty, may be controversial to some but I'd pick Kimbo to knock out Bruce Lee anyway

Really strange place this thread has gone where desperate Bruce Lee fans try to legitimize him as a "fighter" by resorting to odd comparisons and stretches of imagination and scenarios. When you have to reach that far it should be a hint that you need to call it a day.

Maybe he could handle himself in a fight he was a fit athletic guy who was trained in some self defense techniques but he didn't put it to the test against trained professionals who do that for a living which we aptly call fighters and he is thus disqualified from such a distinction.

You know, personally, and this is no disrespect because I like Cuban he's a good poster as are others in the discussion but really didn't expect Bruce Lee's "Street fighting skills" to even be considered. I wasn't aware people even considered that really.

Why do you think the term prize fighter existed in the past? It distinguished people who got into fights without a prize ( regular fighters), from people who got into a fight with a prize ( prize fighters).

And no I don't agree with the second sentence. When someone asks another person "Are you a fighter" what I gather they are asking is if they are a professional fighter.

If someone asks me if I'm a fighter I'm not going to say "Yes" because I had some punch ups with Timmy Jones and Barry Johnson over the park.
