Floyd coasted in that fight in 2nd and 3rd gear, Oscar never pushed him to make him show his 4th, 5th or 6th.
Floyd conceded every advantage to DLH, yet Oscar only took 2 or 3 rounds, imo. There's a reason it wasn't "the night of the jab". Mayweather, at his highest weight, with pillows for gloves, was quick enough to counter DLH and even buckle his knees once or twice. Oscar was around 24-25 when he fought a faded Sweet Pea and arguably lost. DLH's age is irrelevant because Floyd has always been a better boxer than him. That's the reason why Oscar waited until Floyd had become a legitimate PPV draw before fighting him.

Oscar fought a less active version of Floyd and still got damn near white washed so now a more athletic version gets easier. I would have loved for Oscar to have beaten Floyd he simply isn't better no matter what age or weight class.

I'd pick Oscar to win. Not with ease though.

Mayweather UD, the same way he clearly UD'd him in 2007. Oscar had a chance to fight a younger Floyd while he himself was closer to his prime, he passed on the fight, for good reason. No need to cry about should of could of would of's at this point.
This is the most important part....Floyd wanted to fight him then....Oscar said no...if he was so sure of a win why not?

does floyd get to be 25 too??? or is it just oscar?? thats the problem with hypotheticals. floyd wasnt exactly prime when he fought oscar at 154 either. and oscar was the much bigger man with every concession in the book handed to him. still lost miserably.

The guys who posters claim would have beaten Floyd in their prime opted not to fight Floyd in their prime.

I agree...A young boxer Oscar would've beaten him. An old boxer/promoter Oscar couldn't.

Funny, when Floyd wanted to fight him early in his career he didn't want the fight, now he is saying he would've beaten him..the word deluded comes to mind.

Its allot of different versions of Mayweather. Sometimes he comes off these layoffs and something is off. He may be slower, and win with timing, may be faster, may have more power. The Floyd who fought Canelo is too strong for anyone. Too sharp, aggressive. I think no fighter in history can challenge that thing lol
