The thing is that,cotto is not ****** like rosado,cotto knows that if gbp is paying him 10mil to fight canelo,is only because they are bringing him in to get robbed on a decision and loose so that canelo rises in fame again. Cotto knows this and is not gonna drown his fame and pride over 10 mil.Arum on the other hand however is offering cotto 5 mill along with a true and legitimate opportunity to win a 4th title and become a star again,howver cotto is ****** naive and dilusional.If you were cotto who would you choose? Dude, HBO takes 10% from every PPV buy, then the major cable companies, Cablevision, Time Warner, Comcast, Charter, Cox, also get their share, which is not peanuts.

Mayweather-De La Hoya sold 2.4million PPV's and $130mill PPV revenue plus $19 million gate revenue, for a total of $150 million dollars. DLH got his $50mill, Mayweather his $30mill. Oh wait a minute, where did the rest of the money go? There's $70 mill left, who took them?

To give me some leeway, let say it tops at 600k like you said at $60 per buy (lets ignore the extra $10 HD). That's $36M in revenue. HBO gets 10%. That's $32.4M left. Other 50% for cable/satellite, and thats' 16.2M left from PPV revenue. Gate will be $3M and the cost to rent MSG is $500K, so lets add $2.5M to $16.2M. That's $18.7M. Lets add 1 million for rebroadcast fee, international revenue, and sponsorships. That's 19.7M. Lets subtract 500K for the undercard and 1.2M for advertising/other expenses. That's $18M left over. Martinez gets 5 million and what he pays Dibella is his problem. Thats $13M left over for Arum, Cotto, and NY taxes. Assuming Arum gets 20% and 7.5% for taxes, that's approximately 10M for Cotto without having to pay Martinez $5K.

Am I off somewhere? Surely, I am. But more or less 10M for cotto doesn't sound outrages to me.

Cotto wont make crap if arum is promoting it. He will rob cotto blind...lol This is why cotto left in the first place. From a financial standpoint, cotto might profit more becuase as one poster said...sergio isnt a draw. PPV might be okay. But canelo-cotto will be bigger. Cottos team should do what Cooneys team did against Holmes; demand equal pay of canelo. Canelo cant do cotto like numbers with anyone else.....lara, angulo, trout, nobody at 54 .

Canelo just came off a 2.2million PPV and has a fanbase larger than any fighter Cotto could fight right now. What the hell has Martinez done on PPV since doing 500k with Chavez Jr, another Mexican?

I really think Cotto-Canelo flirts with 1million PPVs. Cotto-Martinez doing 600k would be tops. Gate revenue would be much better for Cotto-Canelo too, they would need a stadium to meet the demand for Cotto-Canelo.

The thing with Floyd is a component of capitalism, were marketung plays a major role in portraying Floyd as the villian and undefeated pound for pound the best ( he isnīt ). So other than his fans ( Canelo and Cotto have more), people actaully pay to see him lose. Just like a wrestler who plays the role of the bad guy. If Floyd had two losses, half the audience wonīt care about him. Matter of fact, most people think he is boring.
