Canelo vs Cotto is the better fight for the fans, it is the more competitive fight and the fight that would stylistically look better. It is also the bigger event and a fight that would generate more fan interest, discussions, debating, and media coverage. It also automatically inherits the never ending Puerto Rico vs Mexico storyline.

About 90 percent of the people that filled up the building were mexicans cotto vs pbf not really. Remember when canelo wasnt on pbf undercard how it didnt do so good? But Canelo filled up in texas? Remember how canelo draws huge ratings but then again nobody knows who he is i wonder what would happen if they knew lol
It was more a 63% than 90 for the fight.

The point is cotto will get an ass whooping and less money to face martinez. Him facing canelo is a more winnable fight for far more money. After martinez he will be forced to retired he looked awful against trout and awful on his last fight as well. The last fight was a fight to look good against a bum and market himself as a beast when martinez will completely demolish him.

I dont get peopl3 he looses against trout looks bad then demolishes a bum with no chance whatsoever and all of a sudden he is back lmaol

is cotto hurt? wonder why he cant be ready in time for canelo. he has a much better chance to beat canelo now. Martinez beats him up.and no way he makes more with Martinez

This one i actually believe bob. Cotto in the NYC/NJ area is always big. Lotta puerto ricans there n his fight with maragrito did 700,000 buys. And put him against Sergio the champ, whos made his statement as king will def draw big.
Sergios been wanting that cotto fight since 10'

I went to the cotto yankee stadium fight vs foreman n lotta people even went for that one.
I dont think people blieve canelo right after his ppv performance against mayqeather. Hell get his hype back pnly after he KOs/dominates someone like Lara or even cotto. Ciz right now people know he is not "the one!"

No, he won't Bob. But you sure will. I guess anything is better than the NOTHING you'd get if he jumped over to GBP for a night. Don't understand why Cotto can't be ready by Mar. But anywooo. I'll probably hit up NYC for this one.

                it's simple.

how much does Cotto vs Canelo make?

probably a lot right? 1 million PPV buys easy maybe 1.5 million plus at least a 10 million live gate.

the fight might generate around 100 million. well 10 million is only 10% of that. it's a lot of money but Cotto isn't playing the B-side to Canelo and only getting 10%

but with Martinez the PPV does like 500k or 600k plus a 10 million live gate. that's around 60 million. Martinez will probably only get 4 million maybe 5 max.
                that leaves 55 million.

the math is way off but I'm just using it as an example to show that Cotto will get more money against Martinez just because the % will be a lot more. Cotto is the A side against Martinez.

Schaefer likes to throw around big numbers to get fans stirred up but if you stop and think he's really low balling Cotto. Cotto vs Canelo should be 50/50 period.

I guess you dont understand boxing business being the champion and making statements doent reflect big numbers look at rigondeaux. How in the hell does martinez or cotto sell more than Canelo??? Add tbe Mexican vs PR rivalry and the fact that it wouod be more competitive. This fight will be a one sided bewtdown by kartinez not alot of appeal really.

Put canelo vs cotto in vegas or texas. Canelo was jjst part of the second biggeet ppv

cause he is lazy and scared, is the third time he refuses to fight Canelo for who knows what reason, Canelo is way easier fight than Martinez.

Cotto's legacy is priceless. He's made his $$ and is running his own shop, which is the epitome of success...so regardless of Arum's obvious gamesmanship, money ain't the priority imo.
