Cotto wont make crap if arum is promoting it. He will rob cotto blind...lol This is why cotto left in the first place. From a financial standpoint, cotto might profit more becuase as one poster said...sergio isnt a draw. PPV might be okay. But canelo-cotto will be bigger. Cottos team should do what Cooneys team did against Holmes; demand equal pay of canelo. Canelo cant do cotto like numbers with anyone else.....lara, angulo, trout, nobody at 54 .

You are talking a pile of rubbish. I think that at your level of ignorance you should read the sites for about 5 years before posting anything which would show you up so much. Cotto was with Arum from his very first pro fight until his final contract expired at the end of December 2011. He took two fights as an independent, with Golden Balls fighters in 2012 and lost them both. He then came back to Arum and Top Rank is again promoting his fights on a fight by fight basis.

The reason he didn't re-sign with Top Rank after having had Arum guide him for over 14 years to a hugely successful career, had nothing to do with money. It seemed to have been because he allowed the ignorant fan base-which makes up about 90% of all boxing fans (my opinion) to stir his mind up over an unsubstantiated accusation of a Margarito fraud in their fight. And, golden Balls tempted him with a Mayweather fight.

Arum felt, from the Commission verdict, (which absolved Margarito from cheating but penalised him because "you are the head of your team") that Margarito was being unfairly treated by the public -like a pariah- so he supported him and helped him.

Cotto obviously feels more comfortable with Top Rank so what difference does it make to YOU.....? Not ONE SINGLE PERSON on this whole site knows anything at all about the financial arrangements of the major match-ups. The only way they could know, would be to have copies of the relevant contracts, as well as the reported IRS tax returns of the fighters. What fighter do you think will give this info to a reporter??? Eh??

I agree that Canelo has the advantage if he fights Cotto being that he's younger and bigger, but to say Cotto is afraid because he prefers to wait and fight Sergio is absurd. Cotto has never ducked anyone, he has faced more adversity in the ring than Canelo has. Ginger has never been tested because he fought no one. I give him credit for beating trout and that's it. But styles makes fights so don't think he's just going to walk through Cotto.

The point is cotto will get an ass whooping and less money to face martinez. Him facing canelo is a more winnable fight for far more money. After martinez he will be forced to retired he looked awful against trout and awful on his last fight as well. The last fight was a fight to look good against a bum and market himself as a beast when martinez will completely demolish him.
