I would say Cuba are in better shape than Mexico.

Cuba has Gamboa, Rigo, Kid Chocolate, and Lara.

Mexico has Canelo and Mares. Everyone else are irrelevant, yeah Mexico might have more "champions" but they're mediocre at best. JMM is finished.

I would say the two powerhouse in boxing atm would be Cuba and Argentina.

First Cuban Community need to welcome with open arms their athletes, and support them so Florida becomes the Hot Bed to make money off.

The Cubans, as good as they are. Quickly fall off into obscurity. And no one really misses them.

Also the Cubans need to modify their style. Balance their boxing - action. After all, they want public to fall in love with you, which is inherently tough when your a foreigner, and even tougher when the pure boxing style displeases the average fan.
For the sake of argument, let's say the number is two million (which it isn't). It's still just about four times less than that of Puerto Ricans. Even if everything you just cited comes to pass, the sheer numbers are simply not there to provide a comparable level of support as the Puerto Ricans.

Being a rival to Mexico's dominance isn't the topic of this thread. Creating a "rivalry" carries a different connotation. Cuba has too small a population to "rival" Mexico. The same goes for Puerto Rico. A "rivalry" implies highly anticipated confrontations between specific teams/peoples. Mexico and Puerto Rico have a rivalry where backers from both sides show up, waving their flags and producing a raucous environment. You don't get the same effect with Cuban and Mexican match-ups...yet, anyway.

I thought he started to decline psychically after the Terdsak fight. Which was 4 fights before the second Pacquiao fight. It wasn't much but that's when it started. We gotta remember he was turning 34 yeas old when he fought Pacquiao the second time and in that span he went up 2 weight classes.

Kid Chocolate is the best in his weight class. What are you on about?

Lara schooled one of Mexico's best fighters, Angulo.

Gamboa annihilated Ponce de León. I bet de Leon is in that "world rated" fighter list. And he's ***in cheeks.

There isn't a "rivalry" between Mexico and Cuba. And there won't be until we get a lot of memorable fights between the two in the years to come.

All I'm saying is, Mexico has the quantity. Cuba has the quality.

How can you disregard population when it's clear that Mexico wouldn't have 30 world rated fighters if she had the population of Cuba? Cuba having 5 versus Argentina's 4 is highly impressive. Hell, I'm impressed that Armenia has even one well-known fighter when she has such a tiny population.

This right here. That's how rivalries are created. And, let's face it, rivalries usually produce bad blood. That hasn't happened yet, and isn't likely to unless there are repeated encounters.
