    Look at this, another clown.

The guy he was fighting was Vanes, who's Armenia

    you ******, lmfao.

Lara said it was to show grattitude to the Mexican people. He trains in Texas, large mexican community, he gets respect no doubt about it.

I supported him in that fight, though i didn't like the way he fought, or even Vanes for that matter, that fight was a MESS. Theres nothing wrong with him wearing our colors. But theres seems to be something in it bothering you.

BOTH of THESE guys bs'ing out of their a$$es.

lets smoke a cuba, this thread is done.

The point is flying way above your head, it cant be compared to any other country. Before Castro it was like every other country (Granted idk if the Cuban boxing program would be as amazing as it is without Castro)but we where doing great and this was more than half a century ago mind you, now to make PR comparable to Cuba in present day like you did you would have to jail the entire island of and all their worthwhile fighters in PR not allow them to leave the island and turn them into national traitors if they do and then you tell me how many pro boxing champions they will produce then or any country for that matter as many as Cuba has? Doubt it .

Thread demolished you may shut off your computer now.

I would sincerely respect the hell out of any fighter that did that.

-Gamboa is a cheater with no chin.

          -Lara is garbage

-Rigo is good but will probably end up on FNF

the only one I liked was Angelo Santana and he got sent to hell in his last fight

-Mares is a P4P undefeated, 3 weight class champ

-Marquez top 3 P4P and ATG

-Canelo undefeated unified champ thats going to fight Mayweather

          Not to mention:

          Santa Cruz
          Estrada
          Chavez jr
          Vazquez

          M/A
          M.Garcia
          Alvarado
          Guerrero
          Rios

If another rivalry is going to brew up since the extinction of Puerto Rican boxing it will be against another top notch boxing country like Argentina with amazing boxers like

          Martinez
          Matthysse
          Maidana
          Abregu
          Navarez

          etc
haha a lot of contradictions on that post chave jr is awesome lara is trash and yea alvarado is the greates but gamboa is trash gtfo most of those guys you are amping up are garbage as ****

dont forget to add Quillin and Y.P Hernandez to the mix also and abril who might not be the greatest but if this guy says alvarado is awesome and abril beat rios even easier then what does that make richiet

the problem here as it has always been its very small percentage of Cuban fighter turn pro for obvious reasons and even the ones that do have to face serious obstacles because of boxing politics.

As I stated in my previous post, Napoles, Ramos and Rodriguez were fighting before Castro took power. They were not a product of the communist system. And although I claim Quillin as one of our own, he cannot be rightfully discussed in an argument of this nature, as he wasn't born in Cuba. Pete is not a product of pre or post-Castro Cuba. You see, our conversation has very little to do with math and everything to do with knowledge.

And you are completely right. Thank you for clarifying my point for him. Puga thinks Cuba would've of hardly produced world champions if Castro hadn't of come along. Yeah, the amateur system wouldn't have been as good, but we would've had several more pro world champions than we had during Castro. My goodness, how does one not understand that half-a-century of oppression tends to stifle your production? The few champions that made it over during Castro's reign are but a sample of what could have been. Most of these guys only got here a few years ago. Imagine if there were five decades' worth of free competition!

lara just got almost koed by a face first face brawler ( he's lucky it was not margarito in there), arguably lost to molina..

gamboa just struggled vs a unknown fighter.. thats 3

riongondeaux on the other hand is the excellent one....cant say nothing about that, but thats just one fighter...

all you are saying is speculation and assumption ..if what youre saying is true , how come puerto rico has had way more champons than cuba then ?..i know communism is next but how come when communsim was not the rule in cuba , they did'nt not have as much champion as when fidel ruled ?...somehting to think about ..i just dont see the logic to that argumnet....
I have to step in because you are missing the point, before castro they were only 6 or 7 divisions and only one Champ, so it was hard for anyone to get the crown, still we had the Kids, Gavilan, Paret and Chocolate, Luis M. Rodriguez, Jose Legra, Ramos and Napoles then the gates were closed and a new age was born, alphabet belts with a 100 weight division and 5 "champs" in each of them, back in the day Mexico didn't have 50 "champs", only USA had a few, count how many Champs Mexico had before all the new divisions and belts and you will be surprised, if you do a little research you will find out that the first Mexican pro boxer went to Cuba to learn his craft...
PS. Lara made a proud aztec warrior quit, and the odds were stacked against him, Margarito is a face first brawler with less ko power than Angulo...

If Cuba legalised boxing it would be a massacre not a rivalry.

If the next fight of note came in another decade, the rivalry doesn't seem to have yet taken root. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I recall the rivalry as we know it today starting with Gomez-Sanchez.
Actually, Gomez-Zarate was the one, and Gomez is responsible for the PR-MEX rivarly...
