floyd would gain the WBC 160 crown and a fat paycheck

Can't believe I saw some people on here actually justify Mayweather fighting Martinez because of his perceived legacy.....it's only $$$$$$$$$ Canelo fight is not abou the legacy!

The Macklin fight will allow him to prove himself though.

Floyd is not willing to fight at 154 anymore, what makes you think he would fight above that?
You never know what Floyd is gonna do fight to fight. Not too long ago, he was saying he wasn't gonna pay sanctioning fees to fight for meaningless belts. The only way a Martinez fight makes sense is if its for the middleweight title. As we can see, Floyd isn't above asking for a catchweight, which is another stance he's flipped on. So I think a Martinez fight at 155-156 for the middleweight title is very much a possibility, especially considering that Martinez has already said he'd come down to whatever for that fight.

He stopped ishida who had never been stopped, same with proska, stopped kasim ouma who has an iron chin and went to war, afterwards kasim went to the hospital as his brain had swollen and they feared a brain hermorage. He has the greatest KO of any middleweight champion in history and holds the highest ko rate of any active champion. He can box, brawl, has a great chin, great footwork and punchinv technique, exceptoional balance and distance control and cuts of the ring flawlessly. I cant remember the exact fighters but 1 unbeaten russian and another fighter were his mandatory, they vacated the titles and avoided him like the plague. Btw, he's also not a tw@t like some fighters and is a great guy and an olympic champ.
And with all that said, he will be fighting a legitimate, top 10 middleweight for the first time tomorrow. A lil early to put him up there with the ATG middleweights, or claim that he's someone that demands a fight over the current P4P King or one of the biggest stars in the sport.

He's dismissed Martinez as an opponent recently saying he was too big. I don't see Floyd ever fighting above 154. I'm not sure he'll ever fight at the actual 154 limit again.

If Sergio lets his injuries heal and his legs are okay, he knocks out either of these chumpettes. His style is predicated on having two good wheels, and he didn't have that in the Murray fight. Murray felt his power and shelled up Clottey style (with a bit more offense). A healthy Sergio would have rolled Murray. I don't think he's over the hill. He does need to let his injuries/surgeries fully heal this time.

He's gonna get in that ass like that charmin.

I don't remember Floyd saying anything about Martinez recently, but I could be wrong. Either way, like I said, you never know what Floyd is gonna do fight to fight. Plus, Martinez is taller, but wouldn't enter the ring much heavier than Canelo. If he comes in heavier at all. All I know is Floyd is running low on opponents. And outside of Broner, Martinez offers the most intriguing storyline and is probably the biggest fight out there. Plus style-wise, its a very winnable fight for Floyd. Martinez size isn't really a factor because he doesn't fight a big man's fight.

Martinez should fight Canelo even if he loses. a good payday, possibly ppv, and a nice name to add to his victims

I dissagree. He actually dominated a BIG mexican name on ppv, and that HAD to make him bigger. Chavez is HUGE, and that fight got a boatload of ppv buys(because of Chavez) BUT Martinez got a chance to show off his skills with that many people watching, then he later did well in argentinia. He's basically like a God out there. The mexicans will pay to see him against Floyd, after he fought a big name mexican in Chavez.

And why would Floyd want to make him fight at 150? Martinez is a 160lber, and he will be DRAINED at 154. I wasnt suggesting that Floyd use his leverage to force Martinez down. I actually think Floyd should let him fight at 154 since he's old anyways.

This is a different situation from Canelo.

Don't want to see either fight at any weight, he has some good challengers in his weight class.
