And Calzaghe, Because Froch has 2 losses (1 he avenged and the other to the guy most people feel is the best in the sport) he’s behind Joe? I think not, he has a much better resume and legacy. Hatton and Hamed might have been more popular but no way are they greater then him, thats like saying Oscar is greater then Hopkins.

            Lennox Lewis
            Jimmy Wilde
            Howard Winstone
            Ken Buchanan
            John Conteh
            Ted Kid Lewis
            Freddie Welsh
            Benny Lynch
            Jim Driscoll
            Lloyd Honeyghan
            Bob Fitzsimmons

I'm excluding a good 20 odd fighters that would sit in Froch's tier and compete with him for positions. But I don't have a British top 100 list yet to reference from.

Back to back hardest fight in the game!!!!! F##k no!!!

              Pascal - average at best
Taylor - past it and was beating him until run out gas
Dirrel - what has he done before or since?? (close fight)
Kessler - beat him were IMO calzaghe would of never lost
Abraham - MW king poor record at SMW
Johnson - stand in but never a challenge really
Ward - got dominated inside and out for 10 out of 12 rounds
Bute - decent win but wasnt same fighter whos been fighting in his backyard
              Mack - waste of time
Kessler 2 - decent win but kessler is cleary finished

Im froch fan but lets be REALISTIC!!!! Hes NOT a great!!!

lol bro as soon as people see the names they already know what Froch faced in the ring, you can't explain them all away and his next fight will be a strong name too.

You should all appreciate him while he's still here. Complete throwback of a fighter. Pleasure to watch and proud he's British.

As for modern Brits who come to mind, at least Eubank, Benn, Calzaghe, Hamed and Hatton all rank higher than Froch legacy wise thus far IMO. The latter three were all the lineal champion of their respective division at some point in their careers and only lost to the very highest calibre of fighter (or not at all in Joe's case).

Froch was a round away from losing to a shot Jermain Taylor, lost to Andre Dirrell, lost to Kessler, had a close fight with a past-it Glen Johnson and lost comprehensively to Ward. The Bute win redeemed him and seemingly reinvigorated his career.

He's a good fighter for sure and one that I honestly feel has overachieved, which is a testament to his grit and intestinal fortitude more than anything. He does tend to get a bit overrated on here though IMO, perhaps owing mainly to his admirable desire to face the best time and again, win, lose or draw.

I was abit harsh lol but kessler 1 and 2, bute and ward were his tough fights, its massive over exaggeration that all of his last 10 fights were against amazing opposition!!! Also calzaghe made the prime kessler fight harder for himself by standing toe to toe when he could of easily outboxed him, Froch couldnt do same and keep kessler under control.
