Beats: Juan Diaz (rematch), Jose Cotto, Senchenko, Cano

Broner's best win is probably Demarco (which isn't saying a lot), but against Malignaggi he's fighting a crafty boxer who has seen his best days and has fought some of the best in the sport.

I don't know if it's a cherry pick or Golden Boy are trying to pair him up with Mayweather for a super bout next year (not totally impossible).

But he IS jumping over probably the most stacked division in Boxing...so....
Malingaggi didn't lose to Juan Diaz ever

Every welterweight in the division that didn't already have a belt was foaming at the mouth for that opportunity. Moving up two weight classes to fight for a title in your first fight at the weight is to be commend, but the fact that it's against Malignaggi, who's small, weak, and shot to ****, kinda messes with it's credibility.

It is a completely lame move from a fan's perspective, but this is how managers make moves these days. Oh well.

^^This is what it is. He's picked the cherry and collects the belt.

No, LW's do not cherry pick WW's. Like I have said many times, as long as Broner moves back down I have no problem with this fight.

I actually like this fight. I do not believe it will be as easy as people are trying to make it out to be.

It's not like Pauli has a weak chin. He's been in with heavy hitters and will be able to take Broner's punches. Funny thing is, Broner isn't even demanding a catchweight like other fighters do when moving up in weight and needing advantages.

A cherry pick? Only a hater would call a LW fighting a WW "title holder" a cherry pick.

I see Malignaggi getting stopped in the mid rounds, he loves to jab, and Broner's counter left hook is really gonna do him in.

No doubt, Broner thinks it is a cherrypick. As do a lot of other people, but I am looking forward to the fight. Fighters tend to get a little stronger as they age, so Paulie may be hitting a little harder than in the past. Plus his lack of punching power probably had something to do with hand troubles. A long layoff may be some kind of remedy for that.

This will be a real grudge match and I don't see Malignaggi crumbling from a few good shots. He still has the quicks to be evasive. And he has stayed in fights with big punchers. That ring experience will sustain him.

                      Yes and no.....

Yes because he picked the lightest hitting and what is considered the worst champ in boxing (no offense to Paulie I actually like him as a fighter and analyst)

No because he's jumping up 2 weight classes and that's always tough no matter how you look at it even though he is a lagit 140lber at this stage of his career so it's only 1 weight class really.
