Floyd has not fought any of the guys we wanted him to fight when they were dangerous, and he's not doing anything to get the fight made with Martinez and Pacquiao, or any REAL Jr Middleweight now.
come on man why can't you guys be real. Floyd is acting scared as ****. How is this not clear?Originally posted by DeadLikeMe View PostI always thought of Margarito as crowd pleasing personally, but he wasn't a technically sound boxer and just because he wasn't terrible at a few things doesn't make him "skilled" to me. It is really more a "glass is half full/empty" thing. Slickness and flair are a bit heavily emphasized nowadays when it comes to "skill" but that has more to do with the merging of athletes, celebrity and pop culture. This is like the hall of fame thing, it is all subjective. I would prefer a boxer who is multifaceted and demonstrates ability in many areas over guys who are exceptional at a couple things but downright terrible in other areas. I'm arguing this in my own head as I type, but when I think of Margarito I don't see a well rounded "skilled" boxer.

The difference today isn't in the skill. It's in the athleticism.

the problem i have with all of this is with people who talks about the past fighters of whom you cant even find a decent video of as if they knew them as much as they know the current fighters now... that would only be possible if at around that time, you were already a boxing fan...but no, they read about em , watch a few ****ty clips then talk about them as if they followed them their whole carreers... it's like kids talking about what really happened in world war 1 and 2 like they were there to witness it...they have the tendency to exaggerate a lot of things..
also , harry greb fought like a damn kangarroo...i just wanna get that out of my mind....Last edited by puga; 05-21-2012, 04:08 PM.
