Marvin Hagler and SR Robinson thinks otherwise.

come on man why can't you guys be real. Floyd is acting scared as ****. How is this not clear?

Slickness and flair are a bit heavily emphasized nowadays when it comes to "skill" but that has more to do with the merging of athletes, celebrity and pop culture. This is like the hall of fame thing, it is all subjective. I would prefer a boxer who is multifaceted and demonstrates ability in many areas over guys who are exceptional at a couple things but downright terrible in other areas. I'm arguing this in my own head as I type, but when I think of Margarito I don't see a well rounded "skilled" boxer.
margarito is a skilled pressure fighter you know there is such a thing

The difference today isn't in the skill. It's in the athleticism.
i remember Holmes beating Ali's old ass...i remember Tyson knocking Holmes out.....i remember Marciano beating Joe Louis through the ropes.i remember Camacho beating Leonard like he stole something

Marvin Hagler is legit. I've seen him fight. Colors and everything.
But I'm pretty sure Robinson is black and white?

No i think Martinez would be the best in any era..

and definitely able to give the lower tier top10 some trouble.

Not sure what to think of him. When i youtube him he's both in color and black/white.

Seems like he evolved but during his black and white phase he's not much to write home about.

the problem i have with all of this is with people who talks about the past fighters of whom you cant even find a decent video of as if they knew them as much as they know the current fighters now... that would only be possible if at around that time, you were already a boxing fan...but no, they read about em , watch a few ****ty clips then talk about them as if they followed them their whole carreers... it's like kids talking about what really happened in world war 1 and 2 like they were there to witness it...they have the tendency to exaggerate a lot of things..

also , harry greb fought like a damn kangarroo...i just wanna get that out of my mind....

Yes of course, and some other random greats on top of my head can't list how many.

The premise that martinez started boxing late in his career can have an impact too, sucks but can't help thinking what if he started out in boxing early on instead of riding a bike. Coulda woulda...
