Could force any boxer to brawl with him. ****, he made Daniel Santos exciting. Power/cement in both fists. Underrated boxing skills. Knew how to cut off the ring. Incredible pressure-fighter. Experienced. Savvy. Average? That muther****er was downright scary in his prime.

Even at a weight disadvantage against Jake Lamotta, he would of smashed him to fcukin' pieces. If this guy was getting smashed left, right & centre by fat bartenders who trained 1 hour a week WTF do you think would happen if he met Marg?
Sure. Just give LaMotta six months to prepare, new school supplements, PEDs and techniques and then let's see.

the question would then be, did you read the rest of what i said?
        physically he had no flaws.
        chin
        speed
        power
        size

did you read the part where i go on about how his offensive tendencies are likely what's responsible for his propensity to get hit?

and getting hit isnt great for your career, but it's not like these guys tagging him was enough to win them the fight when he was in his prime. he lost once, and to a great MW, when he was at his very best.

and for all his defensive deficiencies, was he ever knocked out?
nope. he fought the LHW champion of the world and he became exhausted and couldn't continue.

was he ever really even beaten up?
        nope

much better defensive fighter than for which he's credited by some of the people who have actually watched him fight.

how on earth you discuss matches between fighters when you only know about one fighter is beyond me.

Its true man. People think there's something easy to applying pressure. That's like saying an infantry man on the front line is a bum and the sniper sitting in a tree a mile away is the real soldier.

Good pressure fighters make it look easy but it still isn't.

That in bold is absolutely true.

And, I never seen Santos fight in that manner before or since Margarito.

one thing that bugs me about the old fighters is people talk about the number of fights they had. pick an old great and check his record on boxrec and you'll see most of them 100+ wins was against straight bums. mayweather or pacquaio could fight twice a month against ESPN level fighters and win everytime and pad their record but they would not be given credit for it. just because you have 100 wins doesn't make you better than someone with 50.

Well throw dirt on your robe and strap up your girdle, bud. Because the new-school Popeye's spinach is definitely in full effect across the board.
