    Canelo fight?
    never happens...
You don't think Flody will fight Canelo??? If Canelo beats a Top SWW, someone like a Cotto-Molina-Lara-Kirkland, Floyd will fight him and it'd probably be for the lineal title. Not to mention, it's a huge PPV fight, and will sell a s**t load, and Floyd will get a great split no matter what. He'll fight Alvarez.

Mayweather will fight in December. It'll be either Alvarez, if he beats a Top SWW (Cotto-Molina-Kirkland-Lara) in September first, or Andre Berto (if he beats Ortiz in June). Both good fights if that happens.

Mayweather isn't fighting past 37, I highly doubt it. And I really believe he's going to stay active. Everyone is saying it, where as before no one knew when Floyd was going to fight. Ellerbe, Schaefer, Oscar, Roger, Floyd himself, all saying he's going to fight twice a year.

After the December fight, assumming he stays active, he'll probably fight in May/June 2013 again.

I doubt he cares whether or not his resume stacks up to theirs. Even a Martinez win wouldn't do that anyways

He can definitely enhance it. He's around Top 30 or so, not even close to the Top 10, and he'll never get there.

If he gets Cotto, Pacquiao, and Sergio on there, he'll easily be in the Top 20, especially if he won a MW title over Sergio. It's highly unlikely he gets all those names on there though.

If he gets Alvarez, if Alvarez beats a Top SWW and goes on to have a good career, and Khan (given Khan beats Peterson and a Top WW first), those are good wins as well.

The fight will eventually happen but probably not next, I'm confident it happens though.

I hope it does, but the realistic time frame is either Spring or Fall 2013. I really doubt Floyd would fight him at 160 lbs, but you never know I guess....

If Floyd did that, it'd make him the first fighter to win titles in 6 weight classes without losing. I'm sure that's something he'd love to bring up all the time.

Unfortunately, the odds of Canelo vs Floyd is a bit higher than they were not too long ago. Being that the Floyd fans are seeing this as a possibility, they are getting ready to protect their fighter.

"He already has his legacy set".
                "Canelo makes business sense".
                "Floyd is already a HOF".
"It's only Floyd's 2nd fight at 154. Floyd needs a few more fights before he can take on a Martinez"

but in other threads they will say that Floyd is always fighting the best out there and blaming his opponents for not fighting Floyd.

He probably doesn't but I'm speaking from a fan's point of view not someone who is on his payroll. As a fan I'd like to see him finish with the best resume possibly and fighting the Pacquiao and Martinez would do just that.

Larryx mentioned Ward as a joke but even that I would like to see, win or lose it is about setting difficult challenges.

It is one of the reasons I respect Marquez. He got dominated against Mayweather but he took on the challenge.

If Canelo beats a Top SWW in September (Cotto-Lara-Molina-Kirkland), than why shouldn't Floyd fight Canelo in December??? Sergio is fighting Lee/Chavez in September, Pac will be signed to fight JMM/Rios for November, Khan will be fighting his first WW fight around the Fall 2012 probably. His only options for December would be Andre Berto, if he beats Ortiz in June. Or Canelo, if he beats a Top SWW in September first.

Sergio isn't possible until 2013, even Sergio said that himself when he said "I want Chavez first in September and than Mayweather". Sergio fights every 5-7 months. The soonest he'll fight after September is probably March-May.

I don't see why people don't udnerstand this.....

I don't see Martinez as that difficult of a challenge for Mayweather, but that's just me.
